Spring Visit

We had an excellent time! Everything was as advertised. Gorgeous location and very quiet and peaceful. Only downside is that while we were there the building was under construction for a new elevator so there was limited parking and quite a bit of space taken up by the construction

A good launching point

Maalaea Banyans was for us a short term stay. It was our last days before returning to the mainland and served us comfort and quiet. The bed was cozy. The view from our lanai was beautiful. The location gave us easy access to West and South Shore points of interest. It was what we needed at the end of our ten day stay on Maui.

Great location and View

Super clean apartment thoughtfully supplied with everything you need in the kitchen and for the beach. Shower pressure is amazing and bed is very comfortable. Highlight is the wonderful view from the inside of the apartment and outside on the porch (views of Maalaea Bay and Haleakala). Great for whale watching in season and there are also green sea turtles daily on the beach below the property. Centrally located and good value for the price.

Relaxing Waterfront

Our bottom floor condo had all of the amenities we needed and more! The closets were stocked with gear for fishing, paddling, snorkeling, etc. Large outside barbeque with pool and chairs made us like we didn't miss out an anything if we just stayed at the condo. We cooked at least one meal a day at the condo which is close to a private-like park at the end of the street. This was perfect for our needs and the value was amazing. This was our most memorable stay in Hawaii and we will be back!

1st floor access and the apartment was very clean

I loved that it was on the 1st floor and accessible for anyone who wanted to go out on the porch area. The view was excellent and the completely was quiet. Although there were quest enjoying the outside close to my room it was not obvious. I would definitely rent again this apartment and it was convenient to Kahului, the airport and other areas on the island. Mahalo

Nice Unit with some drawbacks

Pros: Great unit with washer and dryer for longer stays. Close to the swimming pool and the beach for nice sunsets. Cons: Doors are squeaky, cockroaches, bathroom sink and shower drain very slow and I've stayed here multiple times and it's still the same. I'm here mostly for work but having slow drains when showering and using the sink is frustrating. I hope these issues get cleared up. Otherwise a great place to stay.

My family and I just got back and this place was perfect to have stayed at, it's a close distance from the airport and a parking pass is provided. My only problem was that although it states it can fit 4 people, the futon was completely outdated and the mattress was dirty. We had to place a blanket over it. I would recommend they change it out but other than that we loved being able to access the pool and hot tub and seeing sea turtles right by the water every morning!

As advertised. Saw some whales in the distance. Clean. AC was a bit noisy, and snorkeling gear was missing goggles. Yes, we'd choose this place again.

Great stay at Maalaea Banyans

We enjoyed waking up every morning to blue water and palm trees! Condo 105 is private with the grass and a hedge that blocks us from the pool. After a couple of days, we realized that 8 to 10 turtles hang out everday feeding among the rocks right along the coast in front of this condo unit, awesome! Had a great time and we'll be back.

Beautiful View and Friendly Management

The view is amazing and the kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to make a meal, do dishes and wash clothes. The decor needs some tender loving care as the chairs look worn, the drapes in the bedroom wouldn't close due to rust on the rod, the safety bar for the sliding glass door was broken and there was dust bunnies covering the ceiling in the bedroom. All in all this a great location if you want to watch the whales and plan on seeing all sides of the island as it's a central point.

Great for our family

This wasn’t luxury by any means, but the room was great for our family and our needs. We saw turtles, whales, swam in the pool and it was great. The neighborhood and the overall feel of the property was a bit older and run down. But we also didn’t take to Maui like we did Kauai. The room itself was comfortable, clean, has everything we needed to cook, plus complimentary washing stuff, towels and beach toys.

Pool not kid friendly. Nice location.

Place is as advertised. Comfortable furniture. All the amenities. We brought the kids swimming before we checked in for our flight. We were rudely told to be quiet, so we abruptly stopped our swimming. Pretty tough to tell a 4 and 6 year old to be quiet in the pool. Other than that, I’d stay here again without children, though.

Everything you need

The unit is older unit but most of them are. It’s a great spot, easy to sweep up the sand from the beach, we had a minor issue with the patio door and someone was here to fix it within an hour on a Saturday. We had 2 adults, a baby, and 5 year old; it was tight but we came for the beach not to sit inside so it worked.

Unclean old house

Dirty unit. Found food on chairs. Cockroaches in the unit. No one came to clean it. Sofa was extremely worn out. There were flies in the house. There was a container outside the balcony containing stagnant dirty water with flies around it. Patio furniture was dirty. House is outdated and needs upgrade. Not worth the price. Kitchen is well equipped and the view is decent.

Ground Floor Ocean Front Condo

Property is on the ground floor of a ocean view complex. Though there are quiet hours mandated in the complex, people dont necessarily comply especilly if you are flying in from the mainland and you wake up early due to the time difference. Being on the ground floor, you definitely hear the chatter much more and there is less privacy on the ground floor as well. This property is managed by Vacasa vacation rentals and booking through VRBO just adds an additional fee that you wont be charged if you book directly through Vacasa. I figured this out after the booking. I dont feel this extra charge should be pawned off to the renter. Property comes with four Tommy Bahama beach chairs which are so useful. Linens were clean. Hotel sized Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash and Body Lotion provided, along with towels.

Central Location

The location was great and central to hit all the must see items on the island (we loved being close to Paia and Lahaina). The pool itself was great for the kids and they thoroughly loved it. The patio was lovely to sit at in the evenings and listen to the ocean - the condo complex was quiet overall. There were also beach toys available for beach trips. We were within walking distance of the Ocean aquarium and harbour for tours. Some downsides to this unit: it lacked a functional table space for 4 people inside (the table had two seats and the 2 counter seats were at an inadequate height so made eating difficult for the adults, outside there was 4 seats though), we personally found with 4 people it was hard to run the a/c all night to keep the bedroom at a comfortable temperature (the front room got chilly but even with the help of a fan we felt bad running the ac all night bc of the kids in the front room were getting iced out). Overall, I'd recommend an inventory check of dishes/cups (e.g., there was one wine glass etc.) and a deep clean (already addressed with the management company). They were a bit slow to respond. All in all, we had a great time (you are in Hawaii so not much to complain about). We stayed at 4 different locations for our time there but there would need to be a few items worked out before we stayed at this unit again.

Great location - easy access to everywhere we were going. Weather was quite warm & we did need to run the a!c unit. It was a little on the loud side & the coolness did not quite reach the bedroom in the front - using the fan helped to push the cooler air.

Great place!

My wife and I visited for our honeymoon and we loved it. Being able to hear the waves crashing from your room then walk down to the rocky beachfront was so convenient. We saw so many sea turtles at high tide when they came up to feed. It’s a great central location between the west side of the island and the north and south sides. The managers at Maalaea Banyans were so helpful with giving us tips on what to see on the island and all the best stops on the road to Hana. This was an awesome experience!
