The room was outstanding in an amazing position facing Dorchester Abbey. On first name terms with the staff who were very friendly and accomodating. Will stay there again in a heart beat.

Lovely quaint hotel in a quiet Village close to Oxford. Staff were friend and helpful the room we had was amazing! (The deluxe suite called the Oak room) perfect for a luxury one night stay. We had dinner in the evening and the service was good and the quality of the food was more than acceptable- definitely recommend if in the area.

Excellent stay at this hotel. Food was so good ate here 2 out of our 3 night stay. Room was lovely & was not above the pub . Negative is need to deal with soundproofing although our guests were quiet people too so slept well.

Stayed at the George for two nights so we could visit a local friend who was celebrating his 80th birthday. A charming hotel in a picture-perfect village. Helped us forget what Trump is trying to do to Canada!

Een zeer comfortabel hotel met grote kamers en alle voorzieningen die het verblijf aangenaam kunnen maken. In een klein maar interessant dorp - door de tegenover het hotel gelegen oude abdijkerk. Oxford is dichtbij, met de noodzakelijke Park-and-Ride voorziening makkelijk bereikbaar vanaf het hotel, men hoeft niet te zoeken. Hotel zeer aanbevolen!

A surprise to be honest

Nice but could be so much better

My experience at the George Hotel was interesting. My room, the James Bond Room, was large (verging on very large and nicely equipped. The housekeeping could have been better with cobwebs hanging on the window frames. The staff were very young and quite inexperienced and I’m not keen on establishments that don’t take cash. The bar prices were eye wateringly high for a ‘coaching inn’. I didn’t eat at the George as I had a family dinner arranged elsewhere. I was pleased as the menu, in the main, offer the standard pub dishes which I thought was a disappointment. I’m so bored of fish and chips, burgers etc. Breakfast was good, reasonably quick and a nice selection. An appetising fresh fruit cocktail on offer. I would stay at the George Hotel again despite my misgivings on plastic payments and the menu.
