This is a quirky, characterful and comfortable house with a gorgeous garden in a beautiful very rural location.
It isn't for those with mobility issues who mind ducking for some low doors, a bit of a slope, or dread meeting a tractor on a single track road.
But if you want seclusion, privacy, beautiful views and stunning (slightly challenging but rewarding) walks from your door; before shedding boots and coats in a big boot room en route to the Aga - then this is a great place to stay.
The weather was mixed when we stayed but the Sky TV and WiFi were great for rainy hours and a bit of home-working. Six adults of split generations and 1 dog enjoyed walks with views to Wales, dark night skies, a sun trap patio, the tallest tree in England, Dunster, Minehead, Porlock Weir and fantastic food on several occasions (it was that good) at the Royal Oak Inn a steep mile away.
Finally, the neighbours were really nice and it felt like the owners genuinely cared that we had a good time.
