In quite a nice, quiet area of Watford, walking distance to the shops. Good onsite parking. Laundry facilities available, and EV charging too (but very expensive.) Indian restaurant and pub underneath, good food and value.
I stayed for 2 weeks in a single room. Crudely painted which was unfortunate as it made the room look dated and unkempt (someone has actually painted around a picture hanging on the wall...), when in fact it was actually very clean upon arrival. Cleaners appeared to be in the building every day, and the corridors and toilets were generally kept clean.
The room was well specced, with the usual hospitality tray, TV, iron and board, hair dryer and fan - especially welcome in the hot weather! The shower cubicle was spotless with plenty of hot water. Complimentary soaps etc also present.
A lack of storage space, ie, drawers, was an issue though, especially for an extended stay like mine.
Drawbacks? A couple:
There was much loud banging of doors, to the extent that sometimes the walls actually shook. Perhaps the self closing mechanism could be adjusted so that doors close less violently. The cleaners especially created a constant stream of banging doors as they go in and out of rooms.
More seriously, my room key was not onsite when I arrived, and I had to go to another location to get a key - marvelous when you've just driven 4.5 hours. Worse, someone tried to enter my room during the night - clearly been given the wrong room key. Very poor management.
