「A beautiful, rural retreat. Wonderful facilities, extremely clean and homely. Comfortable bed with lots of in room extras, like home made shortbread, fresh milk with a mini fridge to store it in, lovely toiletries and a modern bathroom. Breakfast was freshly cooked using local produce, hence the brilliant taste. Excellent hosts who were so helpful, kind and genuinely interested and keen to assist and make our stay as nice as possible. Highly recommended. 」

「Overall everything was good, our only issue was after being there for a few days we noticed the toaster was full of crumbs, obviously not been emptied for quite some time, and the oven tray had not been cleaned after it had been used. We hadn’t met the owner, so decided it was easier just to clean them both before using them. On the hole, everything else was excellent. 「As a hiker on the Hadrians Wall trail, this venue had everything; good food, good beer and a good drying room. After a wet walk this was most welcome. This place was very convenient on the Wall trail and would highly recommend. 」

「I had a ground floor room that was a good size with en-suite facilities. The room was serviced and the towels changed every day. There was a good selection of food for breakfast. I ate dinner in the hotel twice when again the was a variety of food.」
