Romantic Mountain Retreat-Hot Tub- Mountain Views

  • Welcome to Sunset Vistas!

Free Fun Included Every Day! To enhance your vacation experience, High Mountain Cabin Rentals includes Xplorie, which means free admissions and rentals everyday of your stay to some of the most popular attractions the area has to offer such as a Fun Center, Gemstone Mining, Tubing Adventures, Mountain Tours, Zip Lining, and Amusement! See our website, High Mountain Cabin Rentals, for more information or give us a call for more information.

Sunset Vistas is a one level cabin with 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom that sleeps 2 guests. It offers beautiful long range mountain views, privacy and approximately 10 minutes to downtown West Jefferson with grocery stores, shopping and dining. Sorry, but no pets allowed.

Enjoy your private retreat with a 2 person hot tub, WIFI, fire pit (wood not provided) views and a fully stocked kitchen with an open floor plan. The kitchen boasts a dishwasher, granite counter tops, microwave, 2-in-1 Keurig/Coffee maker, large fridge and dining for 2.?

Enjoy the mountain views from our wall of glass in the living room. There is a gas fireplace (looks like a wood stove) in the living room for those cool fall/winter days. The flat screen HDTV is a SmartTV to watch streaming apps (no live or local channels). We do have a wall mounted mini-split with AC and heat located in the living room.?

The bedroom has a king size bed with a door to the outside deck with seating to enjoy Mother Nature. The full bathroom is next to the bedroom (not En Suite) that has a step in shower. Relax after a long day of hiking or shopping in our new 2 person hot tub on the covered deck. There is a stacked washer and dryer for your convenience.

Enjoy spending time around the outdoor fire pit with seating!??

Important Notes: This cabin is access by a steep graveled road and driveway. We do not recommend low profile vehicles. Our cabin is not motorcycle or trailer friendly. Chains and/or 4WD/AWD with good tires are strongly recommended for stays during November through April.

Sunset Vistas is the perfect way to spend quality time in the mountains. For the outdoor lovers, enjoy the nearby state parks, canoeing such as Ashe County Chamber.

Awesome Rental

This was, by far, one of our favorite places we've stayed together. The rental process was super easy, the view was amazing, and we loved the private location.

Great Getaway

Beautiful views and perfect for a couples getaway. Weather was ugly one day so we enjoyed staying in and playing the games they had provided. Close to town, yet secluded.

Perfect Getaway

We enjoyed our time there. Close enough to visit Boone for the day as well as Blowing Rock. Enjoyed the view. Felt safe and comfortable the entire time. Definitely agree with other reviews that the drive up to the house is better suited for an SUV. Would book again.

Amazing view.

Perfect couples getaway. The view is even better than pictured and it’s only a couple minutes from downtown. My only concern would be the driveway up the the house, I would recommend 4wd. I would not want to drive a car up there.

Instant Relaxation

Take the notes about the road to the home seriously. We were glad to have 4WD on a rainy evening. Consider it part of the adventure! Once we arrived and entered the door, we were greeted with so many wonderful welcoming touches. We felt so secluded with amazing views. The owners have responded to earlier reviews about needing more towels to enjoy the hot tub. Highly recommend this home! We loved our stay.

Great

Good place to stay perfect for my fiancé and I. Property manager was prompt in replying and helpful, the house wasn’t cleaned well prior and she offered to remedy the situation quickly wasn’t a big deal it was mostly floors. Smelled faintly of old cigarette smoke but no smoking sign was in there. Could be older house but you can’t tell by looks. We enjoyed our stay overall. Great location to town, beautiful views and porch. Kitchen had everything except cooking utensils. A ton of dishes pans pots cups etc. the view again was priceless, we enjoyed waking up to peaceful mountains every day.

It's ALL in the name

Sunset Vista has the most AMAZING ever changing view...never watched tv! Very clean, hot tub was great. Very Private! The road in is not maintained so some pot holes and erosion so be careful. However the driveway around Sunset Vista is paved. Our only critique is the limited bath towels ( one per quest). If you intend to use the hot tub you are required to shower first, using your bath towel. (There are 2 towels for hot tub use as well) And of course, after the hot tub use, you should again shower, however your bath towel is still wet from your previous shower! We ended up throwing towels in dryer & eventually having to wash them during our short 3 day stay. 2 towels per quest would be nice. Also there's no floor towel when stepping out of shower...we used the cloths as to not slip when exiting shower. A shower mat is available however it covers the drain which is not practical. Overall we loved the place and have already booked our next visit.

Amazing Views

This home was perfect for a quiet, week long getaway for two empty nesters. The views were amazing, the home had everything we needed, and our stay was perfection! After some bad rains, the home owner scraped the drive to make travel easier. Could not have asked for a better experience!

Amazing property!

This is such a great rental. The view is absolutely incredible, we never wanted to leave the house. It is secluded without being remote. The house was so modern and open, very comfortable. We definitely plan on coming back!
