“Standard size bed, so be careful if you are tall/wide; not suitable for wheelchair users as dining room up narrow stairs; little shelving in bathroom; breakfast period limited (7.30 -8pm). Good points - free Wi-Fi, honesty bar, extra pillows/ duvet in room, very quiet location.”

“The hotel itself was in a run down condition and needs a lot of money spent on it. My room, had windows into the atrium so my view was of stairs and walls. It also meant there was no airflow, and on this very hot summer, it made it difficult to sleep or be comfortable in any way. The lights in my bathroom did not work, which I mentioned to the staff, and the door self closing mechanism did not have a soft close function so that I was woken each day before 5 am by the slamming of doors. “Clean, modern and spacious en-suite room, plus a great location to explore the Lake District. There was a little road noise, but this was not an issue. There are 3 parking spaces at the front of the hotel, but, if these are full, street parking is available until 9.30am with a disc to display (There are no restrictions after 6pm or on a Sunday). Free breakfast is provided - There are several options to choose from and all are of high quality. There is also a small bar, which serves evening meals……

“First impression of the hotel at check-in was exceptional- Stephen was very welcoming and friendly, and we knew it was going to be an incredible stay! In fact, encounters with the staff from bartender, restaurant and housekeeping were all friendly, engaging, and positive.
