Escape on the river

The Get-Away is nestled in a quiet cabin community right on the river with easy access to the two lane road. Enjoy pristine river views from the back deck, private river access and campfire right on the river bank.
The cabin is two bedroom one bath and sleeps 5 in two full beds and one twin. Perfect for couples or small family.
Kitchen is stocked with all the appliances and utensils you would have in the comfort of your home. Towels and linens provided.

We are pet friendly (dogs only, fee required).

-James W. Curry Library and Park, 2 mile drive
-Historic Helvetia, home of the Hutte Restaurant, 5 mile drive
-Pickens, host of the Maple Syrup Festival, 10 mile drive
-West Virginia Wildlife Center, 12 mile drive
-The town of Buckhannon where you will find grocery, pharmacy, restaurants, cinema, bowling, etc., 23 mile drive
-State parks around the area include Kumbrabow, Holly River, Audra and Stonewall Resort
-Snowshoe Mountain Ski Resort, (ski and snow tube) 47 mile drive
-Canaan Valley Ski Resort, (ski and snow tube) 74 mile drive

Fabulous retreat
I just wanted to get away from everything with my kids near a River we could play in. I wanted to be able to cook and relax. We felt so at home here. There was nobody in the other cabins on the street. It was clean, and the fire pit was great! My boys could go up and down the hill easily. For me it was more challenging, but they knew to e careful and I felt safe letting them enjoy the River while I rested at the fire pit or cooked inside. Thank you so much. The washer dryer worked great and everything was thought of. The beds were comfortable. I would stay again.

Beautiful property!
This cozy little house is in a great location - far enough away that it feels private but close enough that you can still get things you need! The property was beautiful and the sound of the river was comforting. The porches were perfect for just sitting and enjoying nature.

A true getaway!
This cabin is exactly as advertised. A secluded, remote, quiet, and peaceful cabin in the mountains. Cheryl is amazing, very quick to respond to inquiries, but hands off when you need your peace. My son, our husky Falkor, and I all enjoyed the vacation and brought in 2024 in a beautiful snowy bliss! We will be back in the summer to play in the river! Highly recommend!

Peaceful Get-away
Very enjoyable stay! I had wanted to fish, but it was just too cold and rainy (My fault....it is November!!) lol The cabin was clean and stocked with many necessities, even found salt and pepper which I had forgot!! Cheryl even provided a list of items included and by fault things not included. This list was very helpful! I would very much like to book again for spring or early summer. Is there fish in the stream that is beside the cabin?? Thank you so much!

The ineffable joy that simply pulling up to the cabin brings its overwhelming. Then immediately you're drawn in to the sound and picturesque view of the river, i find myself there for more hours than anywhere else. We've been down here 3xs now and I'm just now starting to explore the mountain that this cabin sits in the middle of. For no other reason than it's too beautiful to want to leave for anything! If you're looking for a place to truly recharge your soul, this is it! And to top it off, it's stocked and very clean! Cheryl (the host) is amazing and responds back to you like your her top priority! I cannot say enough great things about the getaway. We have already begun planning our 4th trip! *i personally recommend coming down in the second or third week of October. The drive in is something special!
