Great location right in Whitby centre, convenient if arriving by train though there's a hill to wal

Great location right in Whitby centre, convenient if arriving by train though there's a hill to walk up! Gets you fit for the five floors if you use them all though! Secure, warm and everything worked. Couldn't find any instructions for anything anywhere e.g. bins and recycling. As a property It's worn and unloved, for example broken blinds in the kitchen, wonky curtains, cobwebs and damp smell in cellar kitchen. BUT if you go with that knowledge, as a cheap place to stay right in Whitby, and a base to be out each day, it suited us great.

There are no words to describe how appalling this was!

What a dump! We turned up to a filthy property, beds not made, white marks on the carpets in the bedrooms 😳 beds not made, towels on the floor, bins still full and filth and dust everywhere. There was a massive hole in the tiles in the bathroom which someone apparently commented on booking . Com over 45 days ago so they have let people stay in it since! The smell in the kitchen was beyond belief. I had to look in wardrobes to see if someone was still staying there. It’s all stairs if you’re in top floor you have to come down 3 flights to go to the bathroom in the basement. We refused to stay to which they said they’d send cleaners in and we should go out for tea whilst they did 😱 I said it’s 5.30pm on a Friday evening it’s going to take more than an hour to clean this hovel 😂 we refused to stay was offered a refund but then no compo and we were stuck in Whitby me my dog and my 79 year old mother with nowhere to stay! 😡 we then found another property which due to late booking cost us twice as much. Absolutely appalling they should be banned from renting out a property! Will never use Vrbo again either the attitude of the phone staff was disgraceful. Shame on all concerned. If I could attach photos you’d be appalled!
