“I cannot say enough about The Loutrel. It was recommended by my daughter who stayed there last year. She said it was a hotel to remember and she was spot on! From the moment we walked in it felt special graced with Southern hospitality. The lobby/gathering area & bar was so beautifully decorated with so much natural light. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Our room and all common areas were so clean and spacious with large windows letting in natural light. The extras are the bomb!……

“This was a very sweet space. They thought of everything! There are a few things within walking distance, but it is a little farther out from the French Quarter area. That said, it is also more affordable than other places! There is offstreet parking, which is nice, but believe it when they say only small cars will fit!”

“Quiet location providing easy walking to most of the historic and museum sites as well as restaurants aplenty. Charleston provides a downtown area shuttle (DASH) if walking is an issue. Good included breakfast with many options. Friendly staff. The accommodations are not opulent but they're comfortable and enjoyable. The draw is the history of the building and the area. The other guests were all friendly. No one was there with a "one percenter attitude."”

“We had a wonderful stay at the The Restoration Hotel in Charleston! The biggest highlight was the incredibly helpful staff — everyone went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable. The amenities were exceptional and made our stay feel extra special: a lovely happy hour, late-night warm chocolate chip cookies and milk, breakfast delivered each morning, and a thoughtfully prepared picnic basket with plenty of healthy options. “We arrived early but our rooms were not ready until much later than 4:00. We ended up waiting for over an hour in the lobby, which was not the best but we were able to review the art pieces. We did not start with the right foot. The rooms were very large but unfortunately we got them on the side of Bay St. and it was pretty noisy outside. The location is great. Very comfortable bed and very strong shower.”
