All the "Excellent" boxes ticked - service, friendliness, convenient parking, food and drink and the room and bathroom were spacious and well-appointed.
The property was quirky due to the age of the building but also homely, very clean and had everything you wanted, bathroom was lovely and bed comfy. The rooms have been made out of an old bakery and they have done a superb job. There is also a large beer garden.
We ate in the restaurant where they have a log fire and good choice of menu. The couple that run it are lovely and friendly even lent my husband a tie, for the wedding we were going too. Couldn't ask for more.
Enjoyed a one night stay before going to Wincanton racecourse. Made very welcome by staff. Had a very nice meal by an open fire (it was a very cold evening). Fabulous breakfast too. Room very comfortable with a nice large bath/shower/wc.
Nice big room with contemporary decor . Good shower & comfy bed

Excellent rooms, food and service
We only stayed a night which really wasn’t long enough. The accommodation is at the back of the pub and it is clear a lot of thought has gone into it and it has paid off. We ate there in the evening and the food was excellent as was breakfast. Service is spot on too. Great base for surrounding area, we went to Hauser and Wirth which is only 10 minutes away.
Traditional pub in old part of town but room and bathroom exceptionally spacious with pleasant contemporary decor. Robust breakfast with plenty of choice with crisp continental style streaky bacon a pleasant change from the usual flaccid UK offering.
Pleasant helpful staff and management.
Excellent stay. Very welcoming and friendly team. Room was top spec, very clean, quiet. Comfortable bed. Everything you need.
Excellent food in the bar.
Parking was a bit of a challenge but the manager was very accommodating and helpful. I would highly recommend.
I cannot praise the owners highly enough.
Rather than call us a taxi in order to travel to a restaurant which was over 5 miles away, the owner gave us a lift in his own car.
When we returned the bar was relatively full and everyone extremely friendly. It might be said that the owners are not responsible for their clientele, but it seemed to us that the nature of the place - how it is run - probably results in attracting to it the kind of people it was a pleasure to meet - albeit only for an hour or so.
P.S. The cooked breakfast was just right.
We would like to send our immense thanks to William and Amy and the whole of their splendid team for looking after us so well during our short stay at the Nog Inn. The new boutique rooms that they have developed at the inn were a truly wonderful surprise to find in a traditional country town pub/inn. They are large, modern and extremely comfortable with splendid en-suite bathrooms. We decided to “eat in” rather than look for somewhere else to eat as we had driven a long way that day and that was a good decision too. Yes, the menu is typically English pub fare but William’s skill in the kitchen along with the quality of produce from their local butcher (who supplies him with truly first class meat of all types) produced a delicious and succulent meal which was a real pleasure to eat. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we are more than happy to recommend the Nog Inn to anyone wanting a break in Wincanton and its surrounding area. A huge “thank you” to everyone at the Nog Inn!
