Wonderful place! The car parking is free, the room is clean and comfort, and the breakfast is really good. Only 10 minutes walk to the lake and 20 minutes walk to Windermere town center. I definitely want to be there again.

It's a very nice family owned place. We liked it a lot and will definitely recommended to friends coming to the area. However, if you like eating warm food in the morning you might want to purchase some from shops near by. Oakford provides a plate of cooked breakfast and cold cereal and juice buffet but we like hot food in the morning so we did not feel full . This is just a head up, not a complain.

最近的巴士站距酒店只有二三十米，距到火车站的巴士站也只有五十米左右，交通很方便，使用一日票或者家庭票坐巴士也很合算。酒店很干净，床也很舒适。但WIFI不是很好，虽然信号满格，但不一定有流量。另外，一把钥匙可以开外面的大门，中门，以及房间门，不知道会不会还可以开其他房间的门？

订的大客房，按两个成人订的。因为计划有变需要加两个小朋友一起入住，提前跟酒店老板发邮件问可不可以加两个孩子，可以升级房间或同样房间多加两个人的费用。结果订单直接被取消，而且一大早把140英镑房费给刷了。没有电话通知，只是发了个邮件说订单取消了，房费也收了。我一天在路上，根本不可能随时查邮件，直到傍晚要往酒店赶才发现这个巨大变故。一个周五的晚上，而且在繁忙的季节繁忙的湖区公园陌生的国度，这种变故让我们太措手不及了。我至少还可以住两个人，另外两个人再在附近找个小房间。可是他们竟然直接把订单取消了。我们后来只能在很远的地方找到一个家庭B&B，住下已经夜里十点多了，晚饭都没吃。幸亏主人非常热情，从自家厨房拿出肠子面包牛奶等给我们做晚饭，而且不肯要钱。因为这件事，整个湖区的游览都打乱了。第二天起的晚，路远又下雨，基本湖区啥也没干。跟hotels.com投诉，信誓旦旦会去联系店家讨回公道并亲自给我回电话和邮件，可到现在一点音讯都没有。太不靠谱了。而且hotels.com也不是直接跟酒店有对接，似乎是Expedia的代理。转来转去，效率低下费用高不说，客户的利益毫无保障。

Great place to stay! We had a lovely break and stayed here for New Years, the location is amazing (10 min walk to the main Bowness area) and the service by the team was exceptional. We will definitely be staying here again on our next visit to the lakes.

Great stay for 2 nights. Check in was easy. Though the room for 3 persons was a little tight, it was cosy with adequate walking space. Just be mindful that opening of big luggage could be a challenge in the limited area. Breakfast options were great and hosts were most friendly. Certainly a recommended accommodation in Windermere. Within walking distance to restaurants, shops and shopping. Love it!

Delicious breakfast, very friendly and helpful hosts and just the perfect location very close to the lake and the heart of Bowness. We had a lovely stay and were met by Robyn and Chris, who were willing to accommodate us dropping our bags off early. It was a really lovely surprise to find our bags in our room when we returned later! The room was really comfortable with all of the little luxuries that we’d need and extras available in the guest lounge if we needed them. Breakfast was delicious and had everything we could possibly want. Lovely fresh local produce too! We’d love to stay here again and would recommend to friends and family.

We loved everything about Oakfold House. The quiet yet close to everything location, the beautiful room and view from our room, delicious breakfast. Easy access to buses to explore the many towns around the lake, as we did not have a car. Chris and Robyn were extremely helpful and lovely to chat to - cannot recommend highly enough.
