Plenty of walks and easy access to boats to get around the lakes. Only thing we didn't realise that majority of pubs are dog friendly, not great when you're allergic. It was very hard to avoid dogs when you want to go for a nice meal.

30 minute walk to Bowness which is the most tourist orientated part of the Lake district. Up into Windermere itself is quiet with great transport links around thr Lake district.

Better to go in the off-season, if you can. Otherwise, you'll struggle for parking/restaurants etc due to the number of tourists.

"We had a great time . The staff were all very friendly, polite and extremely helpful . The bedroom we had (34) was beautiful & so were the corridors leading to it . Very Laura Ashley 😊
The breakfast was fantastic too. The view from the rooms were of scaffolding but will be beautiful I’m sure when fully updated . Would definitely visit again . If only you could control the weather . It rained the whole time . Thank you "
"We stayed for a weekend at The Ro hotel and had a lovely time. The staff are all friendly and work so hard. The hotel it's self is slightly dated in some areas but that adds to it's charm. We also used the wellness centre and would definitely recommend it. It's really clean and modern with lots to offer.
The hotel is is really central to windermere, we were able to walk everywhere easily. We'd definitely stay here again."
"A cosy guest house in walking distance to the main shops and boat cruises on Lake Windermere. Quiet location with good parking outside. Clean room and bathroom. Excellent breakfast and very friendly staff."
