“I enjoyed my stay in the hotel very much, not limited to friendly staff, spacious green area and clean and comfortable room. Two suggestions: 1. A reflective mirror at the car exit as the visibility of coming cars was low when I drove out 2 Better have a refrigerator”

“It is a great hostel, clean, comfortable, I stay for 2 nights. It is a great experience. The hostel next to the lake. The view is wonderful. Staff are nice. They tell me the footpath from Ambleside to grasmere. Only one thing is that it is not free for luggage storage. ”

“Very elegant, spacious and clean hotel room. Our room was facing the lake. Very beautiful view in the moring and when sun set. The hotel resturant is very good. We enjoyed a pleasant dinner there. ”

“The breakfast was superb. We tried the evening menu special which was a Pheasant breast.It wasn't the best I've tasted, it was nicely presented but it was rather salty and dry. The bed mattress provided a good nights sleep and the room was spacious and clean. Well worth the 5 stars”

“Nice place, right time of the year. Cabin and hot tub were excellent. The shared pool leaves a little to be desired for young kids. Especially those who may not be confident in the water. I would go back and stay in Lodge 15 Langsdale again. Short trips in the car gave great views of the area and loads to do. ”

“Our stay at Elton’s Escape was lovely. The caravan is nicely decorated with a cosy, welcoming vibe, and its location made it perfect for visiting Ambleside and Windermere. The living/dining area was fresh and welcoming, unlike many dog-friendly caravans which often carry an odour. Wi-Fi was excellent too. When we arrived, the caravan hadn’t yet been cleaned after the previous guests, but once we called the helpline, the on-call cleaning team responded promptly and resolved the issue. One thing……

“The property was immaculate. Every room was very clean and tidy. Very comfortable for 2 adults, not sure how 4 adults would feel as it might be a bit on the small side, especially if you are tall people as the ceilings are low. Parking might be a bit tricky. There is space outside for one car, although the road is narrow at that point. There seems to be space on the next road along though, or as the owner suggests in the nearby pay carpark. Its handy to walk into Ambleside or down to the lake as……

“The stay at the cottage was good. It is positioned on a busy road but it quiets down later at night. There is a shop at the petrol station that has everything you will need for the stay and close to bus tops to take to Ambleside and Windermere. The beds are on the soft side but not uncomfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped but he had to buy paper kitchen towels, bin bags and dishwasher tablets. All in all, our stay was great. We would stay here again. ”
