I booked the queen bed room based on Expedia’s 9.4 rating, other than the location was great, the experience was deeply disappointing. The room had bloodstained quilt linens, a bathroom door that wouldn't close, and a toilet that loudly refilled every 30–50 seconds all night. To make matters worse, the innkeeper was hostile, breakfast was not good, and no housekeeping was provided during our 3-night stay. Historic charm is no excuse for a lack of basic cleanliness and hospitality. Save your money and stay elsewhere.

We had an amazing stay! We enjoyed our room and getting to be in Old Salem. It is quiet and peaceful; with very easy walking access to the whole neighborhood. The residents in Old Salem are kind and friendly. Sherrie Gordon the manager made our stay unforgettable! We were sitting at breakfast together and telling stories like we had known each other for years. Would definitely return here, especially if Sherrie is still managing the place!
