Great city to visit for hiking, shopping, etc. Comparing to the larger cities in Japan (i.e. Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto), Kagoshima does not have the crowds and far less tourists visiting than expected!

Traveling by bullett train across Japan. Very quiet,clean city. Nice break from the hustle and bustle.
