“Staying with the sisters who run the property and the other staff became increasingly pleasant with every passing day. Plus, I was more than comfortable in my room, where they don't skimp on pillows for those of us who like to sit up in bed to work. There's no generator on the premises for the load-shedding but that's normal for comparable properties. Just stay atune to the schedule is what I learned in southern Africa.”

“Property is nice and well kept. But.... the power went off 2 hours after we arrived. No lights, no wifi, no water. Once the sun was up I found instructions for turning the cold water on if the power goes out, so we at least got toilets working. About 8am a security guard came to the house and said he knew the power had been out. Since the security system was down, I assume the owner had been called the night before as well. The outage was specific to this house. All that was needed to remedy……

“Gorgeous lodge near Kruger with a pottery workshop on site. Bring your own dinner and you can relax around the fire at night and listen to the hyenas. Excellent breakfast and one morning an elephant appeared at the pond. Great service, lovely pool and friendly staff. If you are lucky the architect - Tom- May tell you the history of this beautiful spot. Our favourite in 2 months. ”
