「Very nice Hotel located right on the ocean. Clean rooms with great shopping nearby. 」

「The hotel was in the middle of everything. Could go to Corolla and Duck and also Cape Hatteras. Tons of great food choices. The beds were comfy, the sheets clean. The room was clean too. The only complaint I have is the shower didn’t drain. 」

「We stay here every time we travel to the Outer Banks. It is a small older hotel. It is clean, the staff is friendly, breakfast is standard hotel breakfast, it is good always well stocked. This hotel is convenient to everything we enjoy while in the area. Close to good restaurant's. We will be back」

「Room was decently clean other than the bathroom. There was what appeared to be feces smeared in several places that we cleaned ourselves so we could get settled into our room. 」

「This hotel is a great value. The room was spotless. Check in was a little interesting, a note in the lobby said to call a phone number for check in. The first attempt to call went to voicemail. But about 5 minutes later I was able to get a hold of someone and check in. I’ve stayed here for years, I hope this place can stay as good as it was in the past, even if I had to pay 20% more I would to keep this place as an option. 」

「The First Colony Inn is a lovely old property in a great location for visiting the Outer Banks. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Buffet breakfast choices were very good and the hot option varied each day. There's a wonderful beach opposite the inn and a good selection of restaurants and shops nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return.」

「Cozy vintage beach cottage. Easy access to beach, quiet. Perfect for offseason getaway for a few days. People have been coming back to these cottages for decades for good reason. We loved the kitchen with full size appliances and lots of space. Pack your groceries and cook all your meals here, the cottage was perfect for a family of 4. Comfortable beds in two bedrooms. Nice living room/dining room. We spent four nights and were not disappointed. 」

「It was wonderful but please warn guests of steep, narrow steps to 2nd floor rooms. They were manageable for me but could be difficult if you have a bad back or breathing problems.」

「Unfortunately, our room was not up to our standards. The bathrooms were not fully cleaned and the air conditioning went out twice. The day we came in (July 20, 2023), the upstairs units were 78 degrees and blowing warm air. Maintenance was called and showed up. We were told that it was repaired. It took several hours for those units to cool down. Because check in is 4:00, it took hours for these rooms to cool down to make sleeping comfortable. The next two days, we froze as there was no way to...

「Great stay at Roanoke Island Inn! Service was amazing and loved that they give you complimentary water bottles and snacks/beverages to make the stay that much nicer. The room was very clean and the AC unit worked great. The location is so nice with a very short walk to numerous shops and restaurants. Would definitively stay here again!」

「I recommend especially if seeking R&R. Initially, not totally impressed with the location as I drove into the parking lot. However, the updated room and the water view was outstanding. I would highly recommend! 」

「I have stayed in many places, Kittyhawk, Doug said etc. this is my number one spot for now on. The best part was the one floor so I could keep an eye on my autistic son other places have three floors, and I have to go up and down the stairs a lot but thank you」
