Lake Saroma Tsuruga Resort

8/10 Good

"Felt right at home in this resort flanking the awesome Saroma-ko. The area and the hotel were very quiet and from arrival to departure, staff knew who I was and had everything ready for me. A fantastic ol’lady welcomes you at the onsen, which was my very first onsen experience. Walking the Wakka nature reserve was a beautiful experience and the resort was great to come back to. The buffet lacks a bit of variety from day to day but count on fresh sashimi including the local ‘hotate’ this being an area where scallops are the specialty. Not everything was in working order in the room but all in all I enjoyed my stay there. Check out the hotel shop, it’s got everything. The restaurant has a fantastic view of the lake."

"If I could I would probably give this a 4.5. The staff was excellent, the room was large, clean and very comfortable. Parking was easy and it was in a good location. We loved the personal soaking tub on our patio. The only thing I would rate a bit lower would be the buffets. There was a lot of choices but for anyone that is picky or prefers a western style meal it’s going to be a bit challenging to eat. My wife and I had no issues but we always imagine traveling with friends that are a bit picky and this would have been hard to eat at. Overall though it’s a very nice hotel and we would absolutely stay there again if we come back"
