I stayed at this pub hotel in Adelaide in February 2026 and unfortunately it was a pretty disappointing experience overall.
The room itself was an odd shape, which made it very impractical. Cupboards and drawers were essentially unusable because they were blocked by the bed, and the furnishings felt tired and outdated. The view didn’t help either — just the roof of the pub covered in air conditioning units — and there was constant noise from the hotel music, which made it hard to properly relax.
Check-in was unnecessarily complicated and confusing. Staff seemed unsure of the process, and to make matters worse, they mixed up two completely separate bookings in our group simply because two guests shared the same first name. It didn’t inspire much confidence.
Access to the rooms was another challenge. The only way up was via a narrow, winding staircase, which made carrying luggage difficult and inconvenient.
The overall atmosphere is clearly geared more toward people looking to sit, drink all day, listen to loud music, and play the pokies. If that’s what you’re after, this place might suit you. But for a comfortable and well-managed hotel stay, it falls short.
Meals were standard pub fare — nothing particularly memorable — yet priced at the higher end. Staff were generally too busy to be helpful and didn’t seem able to distinguish between hotel guests and regular patrons.
All in all, not a place I’d choose to stay again.
