Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Virginia wine country (just off RTE 151 in Afton), this newly constructed guest cottage is the perfect place for a fun filled getaway. Just minutes away from fantastic hiking, wineries, breweries, and restaurants, this light filled and modern cottage is perfectly framed to take advantage of mountain views from the picture windows.

Custom designed and completed in October 2022, this cottage located in the heart of Nelson County and the Route 151/Brew Ridge Trail has it all! Mixing modern design elements with a relaxed country farmhouse feel, we hope you'll love the house and property as much as we do. Set on just under 10 acres of open meadows with mountain views, woods, and peace and tranquility. Enjoy coffee or a meal on the front deck/patio with mountain views while the deer come and say hello. Designed with high ceilings, immense windows, picturesque views, and natural light, you may not want to leave!
The bedroom consists of a queen size bed, and is separate from the living area and kitchen. The full bathroom contains a combo tub and shower. The living room couch pulls out into a queen size sofa bed.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to enjoy your own meals. From the electric stove top burners to the granite countertops, stainless steel appliance, and dishwasher, enjoy a luxurious meal in your very own gourmet kitchen. We have pots, pans, utensils, etc.
We are still waiting for wired Internet to be installed at the guest cottage, but we have a Wifi extender from the main house which reaches the cottage for laptops and our smart TV. (We use Verizon for our cell phones and it's strong for both data and voice at the cottage.) But again, we are eager for Firefly to come back and connect their fiber optic cable for Internet. The 50 inch 4K HDR Roku smart TV picks up the wireless signal from the main house, and you can stream your favorite smart streaming apps using Roku Guest Access, which automatically logs you out when you depart.
You will have access to the entire home, it will be your house during the stay. Please note that the main house up the hill may also be occupied during your stay. While you have privacy from one another, you share the same driveway.
Things to note:
-Our main house is about 100-150 yards up the driveway from the cottage. (See pictures depicting their respective locations.)
-The cottage is screened from the main house by trees, and they both can be rented in conjunction with one another if availability allows
-While we love animals, no pets allowed
-No smoking allowed anywhere on the premises
-Absolutely no parties
-Children and babies welcome
-Quiet hours asked from 10 PM - 8 AM
-There is a dishwasher in the kitchen
-The house is on a septic system and we ask that you help keep our system operational, no foods or grease down the kitchen sink, etc.
