「We had a lovely stay at Caloura Hotel Resort. The location is quiet, remote, and beautiful—perched on the cliffs with peaceful sea views and lush gardens. It was especially nice to be able to walk down to the ocean through the grounds. The hotel feels very calm and relaxing, but you definitely need a car to get around. 「Great location and beautiful views over the ocean. You can walk right outside and go swimming in the ocean, rent a kayak/paddleboard, or just walk along the coastline. Breakfast is absolutely delicious and full of fresh, locally sourced fruits, veggies, eggs, and meats. Also fresh squeezed juice! The restaurant is very good. Staff is friendly and accommodating. I definitely recommend this hotel! 」

「We really loved our stay at Furnas. The hotel staff was nice and helpful, breakfast buffet was excellent (it didn’t vary over the 5 days though), the cabin was great and we made good use of our kitchenette (microwave didn’t work). 「Very friendly and attentive staff. One of the biggest and tastiest breakfast buffets I’ve seen *anywhere*. Only a five minute walk from the caldeiras. This is an excellent place to base yourself for explore the eastern half of the island.」
