We had a little difficulty with entry because the property manager was using What's App to communicate and my app was inactive. But we got it sorted out.
The cottage itself was beautiful - bright and spacious and had a fantastic view of the bay. It was the perfect base of operations from which my family explored the North with numerous day trips around Akureyri and Dalvik. We were very close to all the city resources we needed but also felt that we were "getting away from it all." We were sad to leave.
The king sized bed was actually two singles which we needed to push together ourselves, but that was ok. The kids loved the bunk beds! It was really nice having a hot tub, full kitchen, and washer/dryer for our clothes. You should be aware that using the upper shower head at full throttle can overwhelm the drain and build up a pool of water -- just something to watch for if you're not used to this style of shower. Also, if you happen to be there during a heat wave in the summer, this cottage can get quite warm, so you'll have to manage the floor heat, blinds and windows if it gets too hot. But these are just the details of getting used to a new place. The hosts were eager to help us adjust and that was appreciated.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend it highly.
