OVERALL The entire property is impeccably clean and smelled nice. Every staff member I encountered was incredibly nice and helpful. Free breakfast was small, but an absolute plus. ROOM/BATHROOM My kids and I each had our own bed (2 queens plus a sofa bed) so we all slept well. The beds were very comfortable with ample pillows. There was bedding for the sofa bed in the drawers...no need to call the lobby for extra linens. The bathroom was well lit with plenty of space. I had a hard time with the shower. I couldn't quite figure out how to turn it on/off or make it hotter/colder. This was most likely user error...i was incredibly tired! LOCATION We had a gymnastics competition at Alachua Sports and Event Center. We chose this hotel due to it's proximity to the complex (about 20mins). It's right by the interstate, so that's a plus (not close enough for interstate noise...suoer quiet). There are plenty of dining options around this hotel.It was so important that we were able to grab a full meal prior to our sports event.

I only stopped here overnight to get some sleep while driving a long way. It was very clean and quiet and the staff was nice. Having the Publix right there is also nice. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.

Everything was good except our floors in our room were not clean. The entry and bathroom tile were sticky and dirty. I cleaned them with purell wipes I had with me. The room smelled like they had sprinkled scented powder on the carpet and didn't vacuum it completely. I slept with a mask because the scent was making my nose run. I didn't ask to move because I figured the rooms would be cleaned in the same manner.

I was so pleased with this HIE that I will be using it again and again. This was the cleanest, most well-cared for HIE that I have stayed in for a long time….attention to detail in care. (And HIE is my preferred choice.)

I didn’t like the room this time. We somehow got a handicap room. Shower was awful work the shower head falling off.

Love the property except for the noise! So many big trucks passing by (nothing you can do about that!) The doors to the rooms are so heavy, every time one opened and closed it was a loud bang! Very disrupting when we were trying to sleep and ppl were coming and going late and then early the next morning. Love the lobby, the room was clean and stylish. Loved the light blocking shade with a switch to raise and lower.

Honestly the property was clean and the employees were kind and helpful. The breakfast was beyond expectation! My only complaint would be that the pool area was closed even though we asked specifically if it would be open and was told yes.

Great Hotel
Check in was fast and efficient. The desk clerk had a smile and was pleasant. My room was clean and smelled good. It was stocked with shower essentials and hand lotion. The hotel is convenient to a large grocery store and good restaurants. Breakfast buffet is amazing. I loved the pancake maker so much better than the regular waffle maker. Nice dog walking area and there’s also a very nice outside area to sit for talking, eating or just relaxing at the end of the day.

Could've Been Cleaner
I don't generally like to give hotel reviews because I KNOW my bar is probably unreachable. So, keep that in mind. I also know the cleaners are working on a time limit per room. I truly think they probably do as much as time allows. The hotel itself seemed very clean. Pool and outside was very well maintained. Eating area was exceptionally clean and presentation was beautiful. Food was cooked perfectly. Staff was very professional! Five stars in that area. Upon entering the room it was very pleasant to look at. It didn't have a bad odor at all. HOWEVER, it definitely needed some deeper and overall cleaning. Wall next to the toilet had some kind of "splatters". And all the baseboards were gross. The shower floor and grout looked like it was no longer able to get clean (permanently stained, needed regrouting). Kleenex box had not been cleaned in a while (not just dust from kleenex fibers) Walls in entry and kitchen had several splatters on them. But the fridge and microwave (including the counter areas) needed more detailed cleaning. TV screen had ALOT of obvious greasy handprints. Headboards appeared clean. Sheets and covers seemed clean. No obvious stains. I felt like they were clean. Drawers were definitely NOT wiped out. Carpet wasn't gross. SO, seeing as we were there for my husbands surgery and it was a home game weekend I just broke out my gloves and Clorox wipes, sanitizing spray and wiped EVERYTHING down. Always wore flip flops. Could've definitely been cleaner

My room was not ready At 9 pm due to previous customers dogs mess and stink. They asked me to wait a bit while they tried to clean some more. I had to demand another room. $438 for what I considered the romm they finally gave me as a hostel. This room should have only been under $ 100 outdated and cheap. Expedia needs to know more about properties it markets for these prices!! Never again
