10/10 Excellent
"Perfect location to enjoy Algonquin Park. The unit was a good size with plenty of sleeping quarters, and all the amenities you would ever need. We will definitely be back."
"Property is pet friendly, staff were great they respond in a timely manner, we were so anxious for our cabin because of the previous reviews that it was smelly, but when we got there it was perfect, no smells at all. Great views of the lake in front, moorehaven cabin has sunroom with screen perfect for summer safe from mosqhito bites! Highly recommended."
"This was a nice little getaway for us! We enjoyed the open layout and the amount of amenities (sauna, hot tub, bbq, outside deck). We spent all our time here and it was very cozy and basically had everything you needed. The area around the cottage is pretty bare bones, not a lot of walking area, but not a huge concern.
We just had a few hiccups when we arrived at check in, the cleaner was still there so we had to leave for an hour and come back. After that, the code for the door wasn't set properly so we had to reach out for them to set it again, but it was all resolved quickly.
In the main floor master, we did hear a lot of scratching and squeaking noises in the walls, assuming it was some sort of rodent. It did create disturbances at night/early morning. That was the only major issue for us, and we informed the owners. It's too bad because the home was actually quite nice and enjoyable. Hopefully the rodent issue gets sorted out."
"The cabin had everything we needed. It was cozy, pet-friendly, with modern amenities, and perfectly located near Algonquin Park. A peaceful and relaxing getaway!"
"The property is beautiful, very spacious and beautifully decorated. The hosts, Mehran and Kyle, were very welcoming and communicating with them was easy. They answered all our questions in a timely manner and provided excellent information about the property and surrounding area. Check-in was a breeze. The games room was an unexpected surprise - who knew that 5 adults could have so much fun! The firepit was also a huge hit. The kitchen was well-equipped and the beds were very comfy. The extra bathrooms were a great feature, too. I would definitely recommend this property!"
Whitney cabin located on the Madawaska river just outside of Algonquin park
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful rustic cabin that faces Madawaska River. Brad (also met his mom) are lovely hosts.Cabin is in the yard (I think) of Brad's family cabin. He told me he'd be on the property the day we checked in. His family did some maintenance but they left the following day. It's very private, which we love.Cabin itself is very well-equipped. Different sizes of frying, soup and sauce pans. Different cooking utensils. Even paper filters for the coffee machine. There's also steak knives, pitchers, shot glasses, wine glasses, mixing bowls, extra toilet paper, paper towels, hand towels and kitchen towels. Can't emphasize enough how well-stocked the kitchen is.No AC but you don't need it. If you open all the windows during the day, a nice breeze comes through the cabin. At night, the temperature really drops so, come prepared with extra blankets. Definitely bring your canoe, kayak or paddle board, and your swim gear. The river is just gorgeous. Geese like to hang out on the property. There's a lot of droppings everywhere, including on the rock stairs leading into the swimming area. But we're experienced campers and nature doesn't really bother us. Dock area is amazing. It's nice to just sit out there with a coffee. Lots of indoor and outdoor chairs available for a large family like ours.Old railroad parralel to roadway gets some foot traffic and the occasional ATV or dirt bike. But you're facing the river, not the road.Use Vrbo coordinates, not address to find the cabin. "
"This house was absolutely stunning and comfortable for the purpose of our trip. The screened in porch was an absolute game changer because of the only downfall ... BUGS! We wanted to enjoy the fire pit but could not. Both days, the deer flies and mosquitoes were so bad. We had our puppy with us, and got eaten from just standing out to let him pee. I tried to go for a walk, but it's just the area. We stayed for 2 nights while at a lacrosse tournament, and the kitchen was perfectly stocked to be able to cook healthy meals, and prepare to go snacks etc. Each room had a fan in it, which was awesome. Communication with the host was awesome, they were very responsive, and a pleasure to deal with. "
