This is probably my first hotel review. I felt I needed to get a review as a thank you to the exceptional service we received at this place. They could not have been more accommodating and nicer. The hotel location is a probably the best location I have ever been too; truly breathtaking. I strongly recommend it.

Room with a View

Gorgeous spot that overlooks the Douro Valley. We hiked both days and relaxed by the pool. The dinner at the hotel was excellent.

Stunning Quinta

The Quinta was absolutely beautiful. The woman running the hotel was warm and personable. She answered all our questions and made sure we had everything we needed. Our stay was peaceful, the room and grounds were clean and very well cared for, perfect!

What a fabulous location and property with great views by the pool (small but great especially enjoying some nice rose wine) & nothing was too much trouble for Beatriz and her team even tho it was very busy. The food was delicious & even tho a fixed menu, we loved it all and a great breakfast. Shame we were only staying one night.

Great views but avoid the food

The location of the hotel is amazing, there are views in all direction. Unfortunately, the service is very poor, the staff is rude and unfriendly. We had a three course dinner at the hotel the first night which wasn’t only expensive but the quality of the food was extremely poor and tasteless.

This place was wonderful. The staff was so helpful, kind and hardworking! They catered to all our requests(wine by the pool please…) with smiles. Beatrice, the owner, works her tail off to make sure everything is done right. Her staff, Christina, Candido and others are just as hardworking. Driving there is an experience but worth it. Dining there is a must(plus-you don’t want to drive at night with any wine in you) We highly suggest this property and will tell all our friends to stay here.

Very good welcome. Bad smell in the room but it has been changed. Dinner very expensive compared to the quality and average cost in Portugal. The view from the hotel is very beautiful

Oh my goodness. I don’t even know where to start. I had never been to Portugal and didn’t mean to fall in love with it. But I have fallen in love with Portugal and this property and the amazing people in it are the reason why. Most beautiful and most relaxing, welcoming place. I hope everyone reading this review goes and finds out for themselves. Most beautiful hosts, most breathtaking location, most amazing rooms, wine and meals! I hope to get back to Portugal soon and when I do, it will definitely start with a night or few at this property. Thank You for your hospitality!

Worst hotel experience in memory

Unfortunately a prepaid two nights’ stay - if not, we would have left. Very small ground floor room - only view is pillars outside. Rude service and a hostile hostess, that would not do anything to solve various problems. Poor food to outregous prices the first night, and «Fawlty towers» style service in the dining room. Not easy to escape for dinner, because Pinhao with other restaurants is almost 10km away. But luckily we did the second night. But the view from the hotel and vineyard is beautiful…

Our stay here was great. The owner and staff were friendly and very accommodating. Service was good, a little slow at times but understandable since they were short staffed. Buffet breakfast included and very good. Snacks and light meals available throughout the day which was nice since you are far from everything. A la carte dinner which we chose the first night but dinner is served at 8:30pm (which turned out to be closer to 9:30 because of lack of staff). Meal was very good but too late for us. It was nice to be able to choose from their daily menu for an earlier meal.

A chance to relax, escape and enjoy the views

An absolutely wonderful stay in a beautiful location. Our hosts were truly wonderful, very attentive and accommodating for our stay. Sitting at the pool, reading and spending time taking in the breathtaking views with a bottle of wine. We particularly enjoyed the tour and wine tasting session - the family are passionate about their wine!
