Five Star Villa!

We’ve just returned from this exceptional Villa in the peaceful, Cretan countryside, surrounded by nature and beautiful views of the mountains and coastline. Everything was provided for in the Villa and the pool was exquisite. Beatrice and Oliver are excellent hosts. Very easy to contact if needed. They even met us on our journey from the airport when we were a bit lost! I cannot recommend their Villa enough. It’s probably the best we have stayed in!

Nice getaway

Lovely villa and pool with fantastic views Owners met us after midnight to show us the way to the villa (thanks to easyJet) which would of otherwise been hard to find . Also let us stay later on our departure day which was really useful. Welcome pack was nice. Nice restaurants in Plaka a few minutes away by car which is essential. May well be back.

A week in June

We had another glorious week at Villa Penelope. The location is wonderful; amazing views, flowers, quiet, and the property has everything you could want. The pool was so refreshing after sun-bathing on the terrace. The rooms are bright and airy and yet cool on a hot day with sophisticated blinds in the window systems. Béatrice and Olivier are excellent hosts - a lovely selection of fruits and produce when we arrived, available for any questions via text, and regular cleaning of the pool. This was our second visit and it was just as great at the first time! Many thanks again for your hospitality.

Very nice villa

The villa and the location are both very nice. Well located, close enough to both Chania and Heraklion that a day trip to either isn’t too much of a drive. Property owners are both very nice and willing to help as much as they can. They were happy to meet us at midnight and lead us up the hill and make sure we knew where everything was. We’re even kind enough to stock the fridge up with a few bits for the next morning. Need to hire a car as there isn’t much within walking distance (closest shop is about a 10 minute drive down the hill). Would also recommend hiring a smaller car because the road up to the villa does get a bit tight in places. Overall very happy with our stay despite less than ideal weather.

Exceptional!

By far, the best villa we have ever stayed in. Villa Penelope was beautifully presented with a great layout and spotlessly clean. We were welcomed by Angela and Dennis, who were happy to share local knowledge of where to shop etc. They also came to clean halfway through our stay and did a great job. The villa was superbly equipped for self-catering: plenty of pots, pans, sharp knives, a salad spinner, dishwasher, washing machine.... Beatrice has thought of everything. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of wardrobe space/ storage. The air con kept everywhere cool and there were ceiling fans in every room too. No need for mosquito nets as all the bedrooms had insect screens, so you could get a breeze with no bugs. The outside space was perfect- comfortable sun loungers, 2 seating areas and of course, the pool. We sat in the sun from early in the morning and could watch the gorgeous sunset over the bay at night. When we stayed, the nearby villas were empty, so it was very peaceful apart from the bells of a few mountain goats on the hillside. I suspect if there were families nearby, the sound would carry a little, but the villa is very private. The villa was well signposted and we were able to call Dennis from Kaylves for directions, but a word of warning, the final couple of 100 yards up to the villa needs to be approached cautiously- it's a steep mountain road- I wouldn't want to navigate it for the 1st time in the dark! There is a supermarket 5 mins away, but it was quite expensive. The one in Kalyves is cheaper but it's very reasonable to eat out too. The Cretan food was delicious and Plaka does have a few great restaurants just 10 mins away. A fantastic place to stay, couldn't fault it- thank you so much!

Wunderbarer Aufenthalt

Es ist ein ausgezeichnetes Haus in einer schönen Umgebung mit toller Aussicht. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen, besonders die Alleinlage mit absoluter Ruhe. Das Haus war geschmackvoll eingerichtet, die Küche war komplett ausgestattet. Die Räume können alle klimatisiert werden, Deckenventilatoren sind ebenfalls vorhanden. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Die Gastgeber waren sehr nett und haben uns alles im Haus gezeigt. Außerdem gab es noch ein paar Lebensmittel für den Anfang. Wir können das Haus uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Es war ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt.

Duper vacances en famille

Nous avons passé une superbe semaine en famille à la villa Penelope. C'est l'endroit parfait pour se détendre et découvrir la Crête. Nous avons vraiment apprécié le confort de la maison tant à l'intérieur qu'à l'extérieur, la piscine et la magnifique vue. Il s'agissait de notre premier séjour en Crête mais nous reviendrons, c'est certain !

Tout était parfait

Un séjour de rêve dans une maison correspondant parfaitement à la description, particulièrement bien équipée, avec notamment une literie de qualité, tout comme le reste des équipements… des couchers de soleil à couper le souffle depuis la terrasse. Toutes les commodités sont proches . Très bien situé pour sillonner cette partie de l île. Les hôtes sont particulièrement accueillants, aux petits soins, et réactifs … on reviendra c’est sur ….

Das Haus ist ein Traum. Die Fotos real und alles wie beschrieben. Die Gastgeber sehr bemüht, die defekte Kaffeemaschine war in 1 Stunde ausgetauscht. Die Erklärung fürs TV auch schnell durch einen Besuch wiederholt. Das Begrüßungspaket und die Grundausstattung für das erste Abendessen alles sehr stilvoll und hochwertig. Das Haus ist liebevoll und modern eingerichtet und in einem Stil. Hier passt das Handtuch farblich zum Kaffeeservice. Der Pool ein Paradies. Blick aufs Meer und die kretische Landschaft mit Olivenbäumen. Eigentlich will man das Haus gar nicht verlassen und zum Beispiel den sensationellen Sonnenuntergang genießen. In jeder Hinsicht ist die Villa Penelope empfehlenswert.

Magnifique villa

Villa magnifique conforme aux photos. Superbe vue sur la montagne et la mer. Accueil très chaleureux des propriétaires. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour et visité l'ouest de la crête et profité de la piscine de la villa au top pour le farniente !

Einfach nur ein Traum

Wir waren für 8 Tage in der Villa Penelope. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen, und wurde alles gezeigt und ein kleines Willkommens Paket stand auch bereit. Der Pool wurde in der Zeit 2 mal gereinigt. Die Vermieter sind sehr zuvorkommend und helfen bei allem was man benötigt. Wir werden wieder kommen!

Heerlijk rustig verblijf op Kreta

Mooie villa met alles erop en eraan. Het heeft veel privacy. Ligt wel redelijk afgelegen met er naar toe een kronkelende bergweg. Prachtig uitzicht. Vriendelijke gastheer en gastvrouw.

calme nature loin mais proche de tout enfin du repos après le stress journalier . le bèee des chèvres et cocorico des coq sont nettement plus agréable que le bruit des fètards du bord de mer et en plus on est proche de la mer sans les incovéniant

très agréable villa parfaitement située

Nous avons passez un très agréable séjour. La villa est tout à fait conforme à la description et aux photos, idéalement située à 6-7 mn en voiture d'almirida et ses plages, ou 3mn de plaka et de ses petites tavernes et mini-markets. Vue magnifique, calme, couchers de soleil de la baie de Souda sur la piscine, déco récente et fonctionnelle, piscine idéale pour les enfants et les plus grands, parfait pour 4 personnes. Les propriétaires sont charmants et attentionnés, bref rien à redire, je recommande.
