    The Space:

    Whether you are planning your next family escapade or a truly memorable trip with your group of best friends, this magnificent five-bedroom home overlooking the mighty Pacific Ocean is definitely your best option! The location is simply out of this world - sandy beaches are just outside and around the corner, while Cannon Beach and Seaside are just eight and 15 miles up the road, respectively. There is a non-profit protected nature reserve area behind the house, and the home blends in to be minimally intrusive to the wildlife.



    The main entryway leads you straight to the captivating main level, which features a light-flooded living room with river rock, floor-to-ceiling gas fireplace, comfortable seating, and ample windows offering unparalleled views of the glorious Pacific Ocean. Sliders will take you to a beautiful beachfront deck where you can spend entertaining evenings watching the ocean, birds coming and going, or deer and elk wandering through. This is a great spot for alfresco dining also and feel free to use the seasonal propane grill for warm-weather barbecues. Back inside, the kitchen has been completely appointed with every appliance needed to whip up delicious homemade meals - there is also a wet bar in case you would like to show off your bartending skills and surprise your guests with tasty cocktails.



    Off the living room is a great room that converts into the additional primary suite. You can gather here by day to catch a football game on the TV, or watch a movie in the evening. This suite has an en suite bathroom, a designated sitting room with a smart TV, plenty of books and board games, and incredible views of the Pacific Ocean.



    Downstairs, you will find three additional bedrooms and a bathroom. A door leads to the house's dedicated game room (converted from the garage). Two foosball tables, an air hockey table, and another smart TV will provide plenty of entertainment, and a door leading to the bottom floor deck overlooking the scenic Pacific Ocean awaits!

The location of this home is hard to beat and was the highlight of our stay. It provided easy access to everything we wanted to do, which made our vacation very enjoyable.That said, the home itself was disappointing given the price. It is extremely dated and appears to have had very few updates over the years. Many of the doors were difficult to open and close, and several aspects of the house felt worn. We also noticed that in some rooms the linens felt damp, which made them seem less fresh than expected.If you’re primarily looking for a great location and don’t mind older accommodations, this property may work for you. However, based on the premium price, we expected a much higher standard of comfort and maintenance. With some updates and better attention to upkeep, this could be an outstanding rental.

The property has nice bones, but it’s obvious regular upkeep and maintenance has been long deferred. We arrived to a kitchen with a broken oven door-the handle was lying in the stove when we arrived. We got regular updates that help was on the way to fix the oven handle but no one came. Many if not most of the outlets on the main floor are taped over with masking tape, not all fixtures have working bulbs. Our master suite featured a broken craftsman-era fixture with one led bulb hastily inserted. Watch out for the handsome European tiles of the upstairs master suite-they are in need of regrout: until then they pinch! The game room was dirty with dead bugs and spiders, so we didn’t spend much time there. Overall, the property photos are out of date for the state of the rooms and furnishings. Photos & listing indicate a pool table but it is absent. Instead, there is an air hockey table, that’s ok, but it’s nice to have an accurate idea of what you’re paying for. Bottom line: it’s hard to entertain 7 people for 5 nights without a working oven!
