「The in is an "experience" as it takes you back in time. From the minute you walk in and up the stairs you are transferred back in time. There are 11 rooms all on second floor and only one room with a private bath. Ladies and Gentleman have a separate area for private restrooms and bath areas. Each room has it's own unique decor (refer to website for complete description and don't forget to read about the history). There is no front desk as instructions are sent to you prior to arrival. We were there for 3 days, and not once did we have housekeeping come in to get dirty towels, etc., or check to make sure we had coffee for the coffee maker, clean cups, or anything else that is "normally" done when a room is rented. I don't care that the beds weren't made, much less clean bedding, but the little amenities weren't even done that you would have expected at a motel. I surely would not recommend the Joplin Inn to anyone, because of the aforementioned...
