“We loved the Hilltop Hideaway overlooking the town of West Jefferson. The town is, truly, only 2 blocks away and full of art, music, and food. The house was spotless and instructions for everything in it were clear. Whoever updated this sweet house did an amazing job. Bed is very comfy! Greg was super responsive when we had a question before arrival.”

“This is a cute and cozy house with plenty of indoor and outdoor space. The setting is beautiful and the house has everything you need. The Christmas decorations were a nice touch!”

“The fees to rent the place were more than double the cost of the rental. The cabin is wonderful and I would 1000% percent recommend it to anyone. Peaceful and serene.”

“The mountain cottage was great for a trip to Ashe County. Great location to town, New River State Park and other attractions. House has adequate and comfortable beds with a great living space. The house was also well stocked and very clean. The host were very friendly and communication was top notch from start to finish. Will stay again ”

“Stay was peaceful. Front door could use blinds or curtains it was a little creepy at night. Hot tub had leaves and such it could have been cleaner. And firepit outside was not functional, out of propane or something and we didnt feel like dealing with it to ask about fixing it we just didnt spend as much time outdoors as we would have had it worked. Bed frame also moved a lot on the hardwoods very creaky. Needs a rug under it or more heavy frame. Overall good experience. ”

“Talk about a home away from home! Nuthouse Cottage was above and beyond any expectations. Our check in was seamless and and all instructions were laid out perfectly. Everything you could’ve thought of needing was provided. The home was absolutely beautiful and the reflection pond was our favorite. We packed up lunches and spent the entire day down there fishing, floating, and enjoying the views. We can’t wait to visit again!”

“Really nice space tucked into an excellent location between West Jefferson and Grayson Highlands. If you are looking for a good basecamp, this one is tough to beat. Loved being in a fairly secluded spot surrounded by trees and wildlife. It was cold while we were there so the fireplace was fantastic. The wraparound porch would be killer during warmer months. This would have easily been a five star location but there were two related issues that dropped our rating We missed the fine print that……

“We had a great time. It was quiet and private. The cabin was equipped with almost everything you need and we had great cell service. We hope to stay again sometime! ”
