Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Very clean. Excellent location and beautiful plants. The electricity is a bit unpredictable and wi-fi a struggle.

Too expensive for what it is. Rude and unhelpful staff. They treated me like they were doing me a favor. The wifi is non existent. Location is great. The rooms DO NOT HAVE A/C or a fan. During the day the room is ridiculously hot.

Great location in the heart of Asmara, walkingdistanceto almosteverythingtou want to see in the city. Definitely try to get a room with a front balcony overlooking the Customs Building across the street and the Embassy of Türkiye to the right (I had room 201). Wi-Fi is available (but expect a very slow connection). Included breakfast is good, made to order omelet with strong coffee and fresh juice. Hot water in the shower and bathroom, small mini-fridge, comfortable bed, very friendly English-speaking reception, make for a good mid-range budget option. I booked and prepaid on Expedia, making it hassle free once in Asmara, and saving my cash for the restaurants and bars in Asmara. Reception can change USD at the normal government rate 15 nakfa to 1 USD. I actually walked to and from the airport, and it takes about one hour. Don't miss Ghibabo Restaurant nearby for 15 nakfa Asmara beer and traditional food like kitfo (tasty pizzas, too). Recommended hotel!

L'hotel è vicinissimo al centro. La stanza è semplice, ma necessiterebbe di molta manutenzione. Non c'è acqua, occorre telefonare ogni volta in reception, per far pompare l'acqua, diversamente non è disponibile. Le ragazze in recpetion, salvo la signora che parla italiano, non sono cosi cortesi. Il wifi non funziona. Noi eravamo al 3' piano. Se volete fare una chiamata dall'hotel fate attenzione che è un furto..

Ich kann die teilweise sehr guten Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen. Die Lage des Hotels ist gut, alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind fußläufig zu erreichen. Den zunächst gebuchten Standard-Room habe ich schnell wieder verlassen. Ich bin dann in einen Superior-Room umgezogen, $ 35,00 Aufpreis/ Nacht. Außer einer nichtschäumenden Seife werden keine Pflegeprodukte bereitgestellt. Aus der Dusche kam nachmittags nur kaltes tröpfelndes Wasser, morgens war es etwas besser. Das Bad ist vergammelt. Am zweiten Tag gab es keine Zimmerreinigung. Die angegebene Klimaanlage und den Deckenventilator gab es nicht. Gleiches gilt für den Zimmersafe. Vom Hotel sind kaum Informationen auf etwaige Fragen bezüglich Asmara und Ausflüge zu erwarten. Das Hotel stellt eigenes UV- und Ozonbehandeltes Trinkwasser her, mir hat es nicht geschmeckt. Eine Verdunkelung des Zimmers ist mangels Vorhänge nicht möglich. WLAN ist faktisch nicht vorhanden. Das TV ist sehr ungünstig an der Wand angebracht, vom Bett aus ist es schwierig. In jeder Nacht bellende Hunde. Der Garten ist der Raucherbereich, neben dem Restaurant. Die Dachterrasse war verschlossen. Das Frühstück ist kaum genießbar. Personal und Getränkepreise sind gut. Der Flughafentransfer kostet keine $ 50,00, sonder etwa $ 28,00. Ein ansonsten so schlechtes Preis-/ Leistungsverhältnis hatte ich noch nicht.

Staff were really helpful and the hotel's in a great location. Only downside is that the room isn't well soundproofed, so noise from the corridor could be loud.

The best choice in Asmara. Great location in the center of town. Very good, friendly and attentive service. Very clean room and hence a very good stay. Given the financial and investment situation in Eritrea, it is unsurprising that the rooms are a little spartan but that is no criticism of the hotel. I would definitely return to the Crystal.

Clean & friendly. Arrived morning of 7th October with room confirmation from Expedia for 19 days. I was shocked to be told they did not know of this booking and that they had a room for only two days!! I was very disappointed about this state of affairs. Sadly wi fi was not working and could not tell Expedia of my status. On the second day of my stay I was told I could stay for the booked 19 days and they apologised for the imperfect info I was given day before!! So the first two days were hair raising not knowing what I could do about it.

detta boende hade inga manner och behande oss dåligt speciallt från ägaren var otrevligt och fick betala även då jag hade betalat frukost och visade bokingen så brydde sig inte alls. jag fick lämna deposed också för boendet för hon var osäker att betalningen var genom. jag fick åka tillbaka till boendet och hämta min deposet efter några dagar, kostade mig mer att åka dit från var jag stannade.

Great hotel

Very happy with 2 week stay at crystal hotel. Service provided was excellent and the staff especially receptionists, waitresses and housekeepers were exceptionally friendly, approachable and always greeted us kindly. Hotel is in the perfect location, very close to Asmara city center. My family really enjoyed their stay at Crystal hotel this summer, July 2019 Rahwa

Decent tourist hotel in Asmara

Perfectly adequate hotel for Asmara. Needed a hotel our first night and stayed at the Crystal. Relocated to another property for the rest of our stay, but Crystal was fine for one night.

There are no credit cards accepted anywhere in Eritrea. Hotel either takes US dollars, Euros or local currency. There is no elevator at this hotel. The restaurant is excellent with cheap prices. Shuttle service is excellent but is not cheap.

I travelled to Asmara Dec/19/2018 with my two brothers and we staid in crystal hotel for two weeks and I cannot express my happiness enough about the hotel from the bell man Mr habte all the receptions helen, tsega to the owner Mr Daniel every one of them where pleasant and very nice people. the only thing I would like to mention is water was very slow in the bathroom I was having hard time taking a shower especially at night. I would recommend this hotel to everybody who is travelling to Asmara. Hope to see everybody again soon.
