Maybe it was a bit tired hotel so to speak but it was very clean and tidy, staff were friendly, food was great and there was a really nice and relaxing bar and I was especially pleased that the hotel allowed dogs as my sister and her husband were there with the dogs and enjoyed the friendly bar area "

The roman like amphitheatre that dominates the skyline above Oban was built by the McCaig family as a familial monument and to provide work for the areas tradesmen but the project was never finished when they ran out of funds ,it provides a spectacular view of the town and the islands to the west.
