Pretty good location right at one end of town with tons of shops and restaurants, easy walk to the waterfront. The hotel is a little run down but has character that I found sort of charming. The room was basic but clean and comfortable with everything you needed. For a budget stay this was a good choice overall. We were disappointed with parking, although it is clearly described in the post that parking is limited, so we knew it could be an issue going in. Their lot is small and chaotic around the corner from the hotel -spaces aren’t really marked and it was full when we got there. The staff did direct us to a paid lot down the street, but we ended up finding a spot on the street and were able to top up the meter frequently enough to make that work. If you want guaranteed parking stay elsewhere (again, all described in their listing).

Really cool old hotel. Don’t expect a Marriott, this is a genuine old Scottish hotel with tons of character and charm. The staff were excellent, providing good local advice and a great breakfast. Everything is in walking distance.

Large central hotel with limited parking, excellent breakfast. The Hotel in general looks tired and a bit frayed at the edges. The room was clean, though the door rattled a bit, which we solved by propping a heavy bag against it. The room was very warm even with the radiator off.
