"You have to see this place to appreciate it—it's not what you expect to find in Gering/Scottsbluff, Nebraska. From the moment you walk in, the lobby and public spaces are beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, creating a welcoming, upscale atmosphere. The rooms were exceptionally clean, fresh, and well-maintained, with clear attention to detail. Everything felt comfortable and cared for. What really stood out, though, was the service. The staff was friendly and welcoming. It was also impressive to see the owner personally involved—at one point even refreshing the lobby décor—which says a lot about the pride taken in the property. The location is also very convenient—just a few minutes from Legacy of the Plains Museum (itself a pleasant surprise) and the Scotts Bluff National Monument Visitors Center. Free and convenient parking made coming and going easy. Overall, this hotel delivers a level of quality, cleanliness, and hospitality that exceeded our expectations for the area. I would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Scottsbluff/Gering area."

"We would stay again. Very clean and well kept room. Comfortable beds and nice pillows. It also was quiet. It looked like many of the guests were workmen and tradesman, and they likely just wanted to get to sleep and they woke up early and were gone. Breakfast was pretty good - scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, various bakery, cereal, juices, yogurt. The only thing my husband was missing was the make-your-own waffles. Coffee was good and plentiful. Ours was a midweek stay and when we arrived, we were told they were full. We had an Expedia reservation and somehow that was missed, but they found us a room there afterall. Not sure about that disconnect with Expedia, but I was happy it got settled without much fuss. I will likely just call the hotel next time to verify. "

"HI&S is my go to chain in the USA but this one was not as exceptional for the price versus others. The bed linen felt in need of a good wash. The breakfast was great however "

"Huge gap in the door where you could see the outside from the handle down to the floor on the outside door and feel the breeze blowing in. "
