Escape to the peace and serenity of this charming 3-bedroom, 2-bath cabin nestled on 15 private wooded acres just 8 miles from downtown Bayfield. Perfect for families, couples, or small groups, this charming getaway offers the perfect balance of seclusion and convenience, with easy access to Vallecito Lake (13 miles) and downtown Durango (24 miles).
Inside, you'll find a warm and inviting interior with a pellet stove, board games for cozy evenings, and high-speed Starlink internet to keep you connected. Our fully stocked kitchen comes equipped with a 6-burner stove, Keurig, dishwasher, and plenty of counter space to cook a delicious meal for your family. The main living area offers an open-concept space ideal for gathering, while an open loft upstairs serves as a second living area—perfect for reading, relaxing, or extra room for the group to spread out.
Step outside to enjoy two expansive decks—one covered for year-round comfort and one open to the sun and stars. The main deck is equipped with outdoor heaters, making it ideal for cool mountain evenings. Fire up the grill or the smoker for a delicious cookout, then unwind in the bubbling hot tub as you take in the sights and sounds of nature. Wildlife is abundant on the property, offering frequent opportunities to spot deer, turkey, and more right from the deck.

Our home is NOT animal friendly due to allergies and other severe health conditions. This includes service animals in accordance with ADA standards and compliance restrictions related to such conditions.

Please Note: The cabin is on a well water system, which is common in this rural area. At times, you may notice a mild sulfur smell from the water—this is natural and safe. The home has a water softener system.
Guests should be aware that the final 3 miles to the property are on an unpaved, rough dirt/gravel road.
Guests will be sent a vacation rental agreement by Durango Colorado Vacations (the property manager) to e-sign at the time of booking.
Note: This home does not have Air Conditioning. Most homes do come equipped with box and ceiling fans.
A friendly reminder before you book your stay, is to remember we are trusted to manage independent and family-owned homes. We simply ask that you treat these homes and properties with the same respect that you would expect one to treat yours. Due to a recent uptick in unauthorized guest, pets and gatherings. We are implementing a strict "one strike" policy for any guest that are found having any unauthorized gatherings, pets or guest with them in the home. Failure to disclose any of the stated above will result in immediate termination of stay with no refund being issued for unused nights.
Please note that most properties are outfitted with outdoor security cameras.
Cancellation Policy:
If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes that are made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival will receive a 100% refund minus a $250 cancellation fee. Between (29) days and fifteen (15) days before arrival, guest will be refunded 50% of the reservation amount. (14) days or less to arrival, no refunds given.
For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date to receive a 100% refund minus a $250 cancellation fee Cancellations made between thirty one (31) days in advance of your arrival and (59) days will receive a 50% refund.
Trip insurance is available for purchase and is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.
