Lion-sur-Mer Beach Hotels

"We could see the English Channel from an upstairs window or walk a few minutes to get to the beach. The place was clean and the bedrooms were just right for a family of 4 upstairs and 3 or 4 adults downstairs. Our host was great to work with even though we arrived early due to our own error. We loved the children's book that told about the area."

"We stayed here for several days in March as a base to explore the rest of Normandy. The property is lovely and just as expected and very comfortable for our family of four. The location is convenient and a short walk from anything you could need. The hosts were quick to respond to all our inquiries."

"This is a very comfortable hotel. We stayed a second time as a couple, to use as a base to visit WW2 sites. Ideal. The staff are very welcoming. Great breakfast available, evening meal if requested. Bar. Near the sea with several restaurants near by, check opening times out of season. Highly recommended."

"Ik vond de schoonmaak niet geweldig bij aankomst, de glazen waren smoezelig, de vloer was ook niet heel schoon, koekast rook heel muf (was met een citroentje zo verholpen gelukkig) en zo nog het een en ander. Stofzuiger hangt van ducktape aan elkaar, wat de boel niet gemakkelijker maakt... Verder was het bed wel erg hard voor ons. Maar als je houdt van een hard bed is de locatie in ieder geval wel perfect. Het is letterlijk de weg oversteken, 2 minuten lopen en je zit aan een prachtig strand waar je mooi langs kunt wandelen, zelfs in het donker want langs het strand zijn lantarenpalen. Als je langs het strand loopt tot de draaimolen zit in een zijstraat een lekker bakkertje ( normaal kun je bij een cafe op de hoek halen maar die had net een week vakantie) en een erg leuk eet rentje, heel gezellig ook met gezelschappspellen en hele vriendelijke mensen genaamd Mister burger in Lion-sur-mer. Al met al hebben we ondanks het harde bed een heerlijke week gehad. Zo vlak bij Caen en de stranden van D-day was er genoeg te doen! Oh, de tv heeft sateliet, voornamelijk veel franse en duitse zenders.. de kustplaatsjes waaronder Hermanville-sur-mer en de daaraan grenzende plaatsjes waren allemaal even lieflijk en pittoresk en de mensen waren zeer vriendelijk. "

"As expected, super clean and great proximity to beach. I didn’t expect for the second bedroom to take from the living room. As in, if you have two bedrooms there is no living area. But this was no problem for us at all. "

"Perfect locality for the car ferry port in Caen, which is only 10 mins away. We only stayed one night as a stop over. The kitchen is well equipped and it has a nice big bathroom. Access and parking were easy. Would reccomend."

"This house has a great location just a few steps away from the beach. It was spacious and comfortable and the host was helpful. The only thing to note is that the upstairs bedrooms each have doorframes with a bottom frame that we kept forgetting about and tripping over. Otherwise we didn’t have any issues and really enjoyed the property!"
