「They did a great job renovating the Tar Heel motel. Clean, comfortable rooms. Bring K-cups with you if you are a big coffee drinker and don’t pack heavy. This is the best of old school Outer Banks, reminds me of when my parents would take us to OBX in the 70’s staying at the Beacon.」

「My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at The Tranquil House Inn in Manteo while we explored the Outer Banks. The rooms and service were great, and the location right on the water in downtown Manteo was perfect. Manteo has a charming downtown that offers plenty of shops and attractions without feeling too touristy. We also really enjoyed the light breakfast offerings each morning and the staff were so friendly and helpful.」

We were not able to use the cute fire-pit area or tiki bar due to inclement weather, but I'm sure it's a hit on nice evenings. Coffee and tea are available 24/7 in the main house. Rooms come with a fridge which is great if you go out to eat and have leftovers. Centrally located on the island. 」

Nous avons séjourné 2 nuits, nous n'avons jamais pu voir l'extérieur dans les fenêtres intérieures etaient embuees et dégoulinées l'eau. La chambre n'a pas été faite malgré une absence ce 10h30 à 15h30. De gros travaux seraient les bienvenus. 」

「Cute little dormer had everything we needed. Much more than a “room rental.” Owners very helpful and anxious to please. Abundance of info given on surrounding areas and dining. We thoroughly enjoyed all the dining options they recommended. We should have paid more attention to the detail that renters need to climb 3 sets of stairs. We did not have a problem with that (other than ground or second floor would have been easier) or but others may. A good experience for us. 」

「We had an ocean front room with the historic wood paneling. It was charming and comfortable. I loved having the ocean access. The only complaint came from my teenage companion. She was surprised at the lack of outlets for charging her many electronic devices. Myself, this was to be expected and I didn't stress over it!
