“Each time we have visited we have been so happy with how well this cabin is stocked. We cook every night and the kitchen is well-stocked with dishes, cutlery and knives. Some essentials are always there as well. Everything is clean and it all makes for a great stay. Looking forward to our next visit.”

“We enjoyed lovely spring weather for 5 days and then nearly 12" of snow came down in one afternoon! We had a great time walking in the silence of a brief "winter." Three days later, most of the snow had melted and the warm weather returned. Such a great experience!”

“We had so much fun staying at this cute little cabin. Took advantage of being closer to the mountain! The host was extremely helpful with any questions and even returned an item that we left at the place. It was great to have a little yard for dogs to go in, although One of my small dogs was able to get under the fence so just be aware of that. I would highly recommend this place! “We had a great weekend ski trip facilitated by this house. It was very nice and clean, well equipped and the kids loved the loft upstairs. It was our family of four but next time we would have a second family join us and have all the kiddos stay in the loft.”

“My wife and I stayed at Apache Pines in September for hiking and site seeing, and again in February to ski at Bear Valley. We like the house and its location and are likely to stay there in the future. Parking would be an issue in the winter if there are more than two cars. The lower level of the house has a bedroom, bath and family room which are great if traveling with kids. There is no master suite, the two upstairs bedrooms share a bathroom. This is a great place for a small group or family.……

Markleeville has creature comforts, so don't worry if you forget some staple items. Grover Hot Springs is worth a visit and a hike to the waterfalls. The hot springs are fabulous, but reserve 2 days in advance online. Kirkwood is the best ski resort of the bunch, and it's just 35 minutes away. “We brought our kids and their kids. We had an amazing time. The house was perfect for us. The hot tub was amazing. The game room was so fun! We had Pac-Man enthusiasts that were very happy. We had 4 adults and 3 kids and enjoyed the pool table, kitchen, & beautiful woods (for snowball fights & sledding - brought our own sleds). In the listing, it says there are three bedrooms, but that is inaccurate. There are two enclosed bedrooms with doors, though the listing photos make it look like three. The upstairs master "bedroom" is an open loft with views to the main floor below. This means little privacy for whoever……

“Booking this cabin was easy. The cabin was perfect in size, location, very well maintained and well equipt with everything you need for a winter getaway! Kids and adults had fun playing in the snow and building a snowman with the snow right outside the cabin, or just enjoying the amenities, wifi, cable, boardgames, etc. Plus the general store is nearby for any extra needs of food/snacks/ and winter gear.
