Magical Cottage

We loved our stay at this cottage, it is the prettiest of homes, the epitome of historical fairytale charm. The hosts were fantastic and made us feel so welcome. The whole place was magical, the setting was totally serene and we especially enjoyed the swallows and butterflies who gracefully danced in the sky each morning. The beds were comfy, there were loads of games and puzzles for our son to play with and the location is perfect for exploring Dartmoor and the Cornish coastline.

Idyllic, comfortable, peaceful

Seven of us stayed during august 2023. The house is incredibly beautiful, surrounded by fields and forests. Our hosts were very welcoming and keen to make our stay as easy as possible. Our kids played happily with the hosts’ two boys. The beds are super comfy, soundproofing amazing. We loved the wood burner, the well stocked kitchen, the outdoor sitting area, and walks from the front door. I’d highly recommend staying here and would love to return!

Peaceful Retreat

Beautiful historic property with so much charm, combined with all the modern conveniences you’d ever need. Too much to list here, but a quick view of the highlights: loved hanging out in the garden, the beds are incredibly comfortable, the house is so quiet and perfect for relaxing and sleeping, the kitchen is so well stocked for cooking, and the history of the house is truly awe inspiring. Look for the “1792” carved into the fireplace mantel!

House is a really eye catching and u get the feeling of living in an ancient house. We even play Cricket and Football with owner's kids. They are so friendly. Really nice place.

Fabulous cottage in wonderful setting

We enjoyed our stay at Hay Meadow Farm so much. The location is incredibly peaceful and quiet - felt very safe for our kids to run around and explore. The cottage is stunning and extremely comfortable and the family onsite were so friendly and accommodating. There was lots to see and do in the local area. I could easily have stayed on another week and would love to come back one day.

Wonderful holiday in the countryside

We had a wonderful time at the cottage, we stayed over the Christmas holidays and it lovely, we particularly loved putting the fire on in the evenings. The location was great too and wasn't too far to get to Bude, Tintagil and some lovely country walks. The beds were really comfortable and the kitchen was really well stocked with spices and condiments. We will definitely be back at some point. Thanks Duncan and Jane

Great escape

As good as the pictures are they still don’t do hay meadow cottage justice - it is beautiful. I stayed with my wife, 10yr old, 7yr old, 1yr old children and my parents and it suited us all perfectly. Very quiet and secluded retreat with lovely gardens all within easy access to the coast & local attractions. Duncan and Jayne were excellent hosts. Would definitely recommend!

Amazing cottage renovated with good taste

Absolutely amazing cottage, the beds are of a very good quality, the kitchen is beautifully furnished with every spice and dry goods you could wish for. The 4 bathrooms are exceptional with good shower pressure, shampoo and conditioner provided. A bigger fridge is necessary for 8 people but we managed. I will definitly recommend the place and hopefully come back. The owners live next door, they seemed busy, but we had everything we needed.

The cottage was just as you see in the details, and more. It is surrounded by beautiful meadow grass (at least in summer) and sitting out on the patio here is tranquility. Duncan and his family were so friendly and helpful with anything we needed. bathroom products were all eco friendly and beds were super comfey.

Lovely cottage. Remote setting

The property is in a fabulous setting. Very comfortable. Could possibly benefit from a few more kitchen utensils. (A microwave would be a useful addition). The terrace area is lovely but a little rustic. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you.
