“The house was a good location for us as home base while exploring from Dangriga to Placencia and beyond. We really enjoyed the breeze in the evenings on the veranda and the early mornings on the roof top. Beds were comfortable and air conditioning in the bedrooms a life saver. It was a comfortable house. The only downside was the four sets of multiple keys, especially at check-in when we were unfamiliar with everything. Seems like a small thing, but it was a challenge to navigate in the heat.”

“Everything was just as it was listed online. The check-in process was smooth and easy. The only thing we struggled with at first was the one-way road. Attempted to go down the wrong way. “Overall a very nice place to stay with family. Quiet neighborhood, away from hustle and bustle of down town. The kitchen has everything you could need, and the patio/pool was a plus. The beds are all very hard, so not great for someone with a bad back. The only real negative was the workers next door that were using the outdoor tap from the property for whatever they were doing. They were working every day we were there, and one day they turned off the incoming water line to the house and didn’t……

“The home was well set up for family's with games and great kitchen and Living room space. However there was only one air conditioning unit in the master bedroom, this cooled that room only. Mattresses in the two additional rooms were so thin you touched the frame when you sat down. We visited in the cool, wet season, 80’s, and the home was very very hot. If you’re tolerant of the heat you will be fine. Quiet neighborhood. Beautiful views.”

“We had a wonderful stay at the Mahogany Hall. They were so friendly and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious. They made sure that we were able to eat before our tours in the morning and even prepared our dinner a little early on the day of our arrival because we had not eaten. Cant say enough, it was so wonderful.”

“Property was ideally located to our planned activities of Xunantunich and Mountain Pine Ridge. Central to town and within walking distance of restaurants. The house was clean, cool, and appealing - very comfortable for 2 couples and 2 singles. The porch was lovely for afternoon and end of day visits - with hammocks, seating chairs, and outside dining space available. Being on a hilltop, the porch had beautiful breezes every time we sat outside. We were welcomed with drinks in the fridge, snacks……

“This is an amazing property just outside of town, but you feel like you're in the midst of a tropical forest complete with many different birds and howling monkeys. David and Jon are excellent hosts and made finding the estate easy. The town itself is just minutes away as well as Cahal Pech. The hills are a bit steep, but we had no trouble in our Toyota Rav4.”

“Blue Moon Cabana is as described in its online advertising. Very well kept with no mechanical issues. Also well provisioned with kitchen equipment and other necessities. It is not resort-like. You are in the center of the town, You will have lots of contact with the local residents. We found them to be very friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to stay there again if I were to return to Hopkins.”

“I stayed at this property by myself in May of 2024 and thoroughly enjoyed my time in Hopkins. The area is great for a solo traveller and I felt safe and welcome during my stay. My week started with a two hour power blackout which is apparently quite common in Belize, but Mirko quickly dropped off a battery powered lantern which was very helpful.
