I love Scandic Bergen City

This hotel is the best one I have ever stayed. All staff are friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was fantastic with a lot of variety. The location is also very good and is only 5-10 min away from most attractions in Bergen.

Bedden wat zachter maar dat is persoonlijk. Douche goed en ontbijt heerlijk. Het hotel is wel erg gedateerd. Oude vloerbedekking, gordijnen, meubels etc. Als je dat niet erg vindt dan is het een prima hotel.

The lobby and restaurant area were nice. The hallway and room smelled like a medical unit of a hospital - the best way I can describe this to people that don’t know is basically like a public bathroom that tried to be cleaned with cheap or watered down cleaning products. There was hair in the bathroom and on the towels that were not ours; there was pubic hair in the bed that was not ours. Overall I just felt dirty in this hotel but luckily my stay was only for one night. The area is walkable to the rest of the city. There is construction outside that started at 730am.

Good breakfast in the middle of Bergen. You can walk to all city highlights. I had Room 216 ( other building across street ) it was next to a big a/c system on the rooftop which makes lots of noise 24/7. Even with earplugs and the window closed still noise. So a good sleep was nearly impossible. The minibar fridge was not working and everything was behind with maintenance. The room itself, towels and sheets are all clean.

Grundsätzlich war alles sehr schön, nur es gibt leider zu wenig Bewegungsfreiheit zum Laufen und der Raum ist zu heiß und stickig. Es ist verständlich, dass es in Norwegen in den normalen Sommermonaten nicht heiß genug ist, um eine Klimaanlage zu benötigen, aber während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts war es heiß. Im Hotelzimmer gab es keine Klimaanlage, und an der Rezeption standen nicht genügend Ventilatoren zur Verfügung. Das Bizarrste war, dass die Fußbodenheizung in unserem Badezimmer bei diesem Wetter ständig lief, ohne dass es einen Schalter zum Ausschalten gab...?

Not a Four star property. Most probably 1-2 star category. Not worth the money. Too old and outdated building. Poor amenities. Rooms are not cleaned automatically. Strange enough you have to register prior day evening before 11pm if you want your room to be cleaned next day. Staffs are friendly.

Room temperature is not adjustable but they provided a portable fan in the room. We stayed at 4 different Scandic’s during our trip and this one missed the mark compared to the other 3.

Liked: close to all amenities. Friendly and helpful staff. Didn't like: Condition of bathroom was sub-par. Dirty shower curtain and broken tiles. No tissues. No face clothes.

It was nice to be able to get on and off the Havila Voyages cruise ship nearby. To get to Bergen Airport, I went to the stop, which was only two minutes away, twice to wait for the B50 and B51 buses, but they never came. So I gave up and went to Bybanen in the central area. They don't accept cash, so I paid 25kr with a credit card. The ride to the airport was about 40-45 minutes. I got my tax refund at the book shop, which I used to get my credit card (they don't give cash). There was no money exchange. I think I'll have to go to the US and exchange it for US dollars.

Very good hotel in an excellent location. BUT: No air-conditioning ruined our vacation. Room was hot as an oven. I understand the weather was unexpected; but that is why I pay good money. But, hotel staff could not do anything; Offered a very small 12inch fan. Suffered. COuld not open windows.
