Second Visit

We spent a long weekend at this Berkeley Springs retreat, our second visit in 2024. As before, we found the house to be comfortable, the kitchen well stocked with dishes, cookware, and appliances. The conversation pit in front us the fireplace is a particular favorite with this property. We hope to visit again in 2025.

Welcoming Chalet

We thoroughly enjoyed a long, snowy weekend at Idyllife with our two dogs. For much of our stay, we enjoyed sitting by the fire in the conversation pit while the snow fell outside. Idyllife has the charming vintage characteristics of a time gone by, yet it has been carefully updated to ensure guests enjoy comfortable amenities. We plan to return in the future.

Spacious mountain house

Great mountain house: 2 families and 5 kids comfortably fit with plenty of room. Quiet location, beautiful views and easy access to town. The only challenge was the kitchen, stove was not functioning. The solution appeared to be 4 hot plates but the layout and outlet situation in the kitchen was less than ideal to prepare meals for 9 people. Property manager was easy to communicate with and very responsive. I would recommend staying here once the stove is working.

Idyllife Thanksgiving weekend

Great place to stay with a large group. We had myself, my four adult children, their spouses and their children ages 1 to 8 yrs old and one sweet small dog. We had plenty of room with for all. The kitchen was small but accommodated our needs. There was plenty of rooms to play games and tables for all to eat. The views were beautiful, the location was close to a couple of breweries and a winery that we visited. This was Thanksgiving weekend and I bet summer would even more fun with the pool and playgrounds available. We enjoyed a group walk with the family. We would definitely consider booking again, maybe in the summer.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Wonderful, relaxing stay.

Perfect house for a getaway with friends or family. We went as a couple and it was relaxing. The conversation pit with the fire going was great. Lots of games to play and comfortable areas to gather. Location was great and we had no issues finding the place using regular apple gps. Easy check in/out. Would recommend to anyone- can't wait to come back!

Perfect Peaceful Space

Mountainside Getaways did everything to make our family vacation easy. They were great answering questions and providing information ahead of the trip. The house itself had loads of community space and private space so you could sleep peacefully while others stayed up playing charades. Pet friendly home and community, walkable roads and trails, very nearby the gorgeous lookout & charming downtown. Can’t wait to return!

Has Potential, Needs Work

Our family had not all been together for two years. We were excited to rent this home as the pictures showed a clean, spacious house that could accommodate all of us. Unfortunately, we encountered problems as soon as we arrived. These included filthy AC units; ripped screening on the porch allowing bugs and animals to come in and thus preventing the sliding door to the adjoining, unairconditioned bedroom to be opened; curling dining room rug which was a tripping hazard, and broken window cranks in the second-floor bedroom and kitchen. To her credit, Holly from Mountainside Getaways responded quickly and satisfactorily remedied as many issues as possible within 24 hours. Other than a small kitchen, the house is spacious with beautiful forest views, a large outside deck, a hot tub, and wonderful books, puzzles, and games to enjoy. For the rental price, however, it seems tired and needs work such as fresh paint, tightening the upstairs bannister, fixing the windows, and other similar details. Holly told us that the home is due for an overall clean-up. Before renting this property, we would recommend checking that the work has been done.
