Not great
We were hit with a rather musty smell upon entering and had to keep the fans moving even though it was cold to prevent it from getting worse. There was also an abundance of mouse droppings all over the house, especially in the cupboards with the pots and pans, and a family of silver fish bugs that live in the bath tub. Thankfully I’m no stranger to the outdoors so I tolerate these things better than most but I still expect better when paying for it. The most bothers thing for me was the lack of communication from our host. A main reason we chose this place was because it had WiFi and I needed to work during our trip. I messaged our host right away asking her how to connect and did not hear back for almost 48 hours until I messaged her again, this time it took a few hours to respond and she let me know there was no WiFi because we we’re staying “off season”. If that’s the case that it needs to be made clear at booking. The photos for this listing are very outdated, I found a print out of someone’s booking confirmation in the first book from 2007 and it was the exact same pictures in the listing and things have not been properly maintained since. Half of the light bulbs are burnt out or flickered terribly. The location and views of the lake are beautiful, it’s just a shame this property isn’t better maintained or at the very least be more honest about the quality of the conditions so people know what to expect.
