"In addition to expensive rooms you also have to pay for parking. Big dirt spots all over carpet in the room. Dirty bathroom. Gaps all around door frame the bright hall light does not let you sleep. The pictures online are very deceiving. The location is perfect walking distance to wharf, restaurants and breweries. "

"parking is/was great and easy. Hotel excellent location, within walking to dozens of restaurants. Bath personal care products somewhat spartan, need to bring your own everything but soap and shampoo. Hot breakfast provided, in a libre-service style."

"The hotel is lovely, steps from the barnyard shopping area in carmel valley and an eady drive to downtown carmel. It's also within an hours drive to big sur."

"The adjoining room door was next to the bed. Very poor sound proofing. The next room’s conversations at normal tones sounded like they were in our room. They talked until 2:45AM. The hotel clerk did make note of it the next morning when I reported it. Hopefully they will fix the problem."

"The rooms at the Big Sur lodge are spacious and homey. They all have fire places which is a cozy addition. The surrounding area is beautiful and it is nice that there are several hikes directly from the property. The addition of the other parks passes makes it easy to explore the area. "

"We had a great stay. The inn was perfect.. charming, clean, staff friendly. Nice small heated pool. Was in the heart of downtown, easy to walk to all of the shops and restaurants as well as the beautiful beach. Good value and a great short stay."

"I knew the property was a remodeled motel So that being said they did a good job with the exterior ~lots of hanging baskets The breakfast was typical of Major hotels. I liked that you could walk easily to the town and beach We went in April which was cooler than expected The only thing I noticed was not sure it has air conditioning? We didn’t need it but if summer gets hot I’m not sure I would stay there without, I would check"
