Lovely hotel close to the center of town for dining, shopping and bike/scooter rental. The woman at the front desk was really helpful at check in and made great dining recommendations. We arrived mid spring, so shops and restaurants just starting to open, and the hotel provided a list of what was open. Our room was lovely - attention to detail in the way it was decorated and furnished. Only issue is it took a while for the hot water to come up (about 20 mins) while it was cold outside. Not a big deal, we weren't in a rush.

Stayed on the last night of the season, the restaurant at the hotel was already closed, but the room was great, staff was super helpful. Will definitely stay here again!

Great classic hotel an easy walk from the ferry, town, and the Spring House. Friendly staff. Nice rooms (the rooms are fairly small). Lots of great outside space at the hotel. Excellent restaurant.

The location of the hotel is excellent. It’s an Easy walk to old harbor, the ferry, Ballards beach, shopping, 1661 farm and bicycle rentals. Friendly helpful staff at front desk and in housekeeping. The Hotel lobby is charming and comfortable with self serve coffee and water on hand. There’s also small bar inside the lobby and out on patio in front of the hotel. A perfect place to relax and watch the passersby. I Didn’t love the steep stairs to the third floor (no elevator, which is common in block island) but the room was lovely, had a queen bed and a distant water view. The air conditioning worked great, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean and freshly decorated. The mini bar and snack selection in the room was reasonably priced. I would definitely go back.

Great location
The hotel was very pleasant. We really enjoyed the orange infused water in the lobby. The rooms were clean and stylish. And then a borrow is fully stocked. The bike rack right out front was very helpful. The porch was beautiful with the bar and the couches and the ceiling fans. Great location away from Town, so that was quite enough but close enough to town to go and be part of the action. Also, it was a surprise to see that there were cows corralled behind a fence neighboring the hotel very beautiful. The restaurant food was the best we had on the island.

This property was built in the late 1800s. It is beautifully appointed. Comfy bed, very clean, close to Old Harbor area, dining and shops. There is no lift, so pack light. Front desk person is very pleasant and will answer any questions you may have.

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary at the Manisses. When I mentioned it was our anniversary, a bottle of wine was left in our room to help us celebrate. The room was very modern and clean and everyone was very kind and helpful at the Manisses.

Nice property, small rooms but great staff. Challenge is with billing / invoicing. We had a billing issue that escalated very quickly from a simple problem with a credit card into an owner threatening us with theft and calling the police. The issue was a misunderstanding and resolved within 4 hours. Unfortunately, this experience has changed our perspective of the hotel completely. Be careful with billing and future bookings.

Never told us restaurant was closed. Shower did not work properly. No milk for coffee only the little creamers. Very expensive and it is inexcusable that they never told us no restaurant on premises when they advertise that it is open thru September.

Amazing Stay
The hotel staff was beyond amazing since I first booked and contacted them. I was traveling to propose and they helped when I was preparing the trip. The restaurant was unbelievably good, we were happily surprised with the quality of the food. The hotel staff was great enough to decorate the entire room with flowers and champagne at no extra charge after the proposal. The room was very clean with a nice balcony. I hope to return one day, thank you all for providing excellent service and going above and beyond to make our stay something extra special.

We had a delightful visit to the Manisses last weekend. The rooms were large and modernized with new door locks and other improvements, but the atmosphere of previous times was maintained in the décor of the rooms, and the spacious downstairs area, where there was room to sit down and have a coffee in small, spread -out comfortable couches. Outside, there was a beautiful cosey valley with many widely separate spots with tables and chairs to have a drink or dinner. The host at the desk was a gem- friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. By her keeping our baggage safe before and after our one-night stay, and allowing us to change for swimming, in the bathroom, we made our one night stay into a two-day visit to Block Island, whose main attractions were a short walk or bike ride from the hotel.

Our overall stay was great but we just had an issue with the staff when trying to check in on the first day. We were initially told check in was at 3:00 but they changed it to 4:00 without giving us any prior notice and gave us some attitude when we tried to discuss with them. Had we known about the change in check in time we would have changed our travel plans to arrive later in the day. We understand these folks work very hard and it is tough to turn over rooms but communication is key! We are more than happy to work with you and we really enjoyed our stay!

My husband and I stayed at the Manisses for 3 nights. It was lovely. The room was bright and airy. The bathroom was very large as well. The Manisses is a great place to stay because of the location. Everything is walkable. There is also a great restaurant downstairs that we frequented twice. Overall, it was a great stay on Block Island.

Was disappointed that there was no bar soap in my room. Also my bathroom was clean i noticed some mold in the corners of the shower. Otherwise I found the location perfect-close to the main street but far enough away to provide a serene location. Attached restaurant was beautifully located providing a serene and romantic setting. Would definitely return
