Autumn road trip

Great location and layout of the cabin. Seems attention to detail is lacking. The water was turned off when we got there. I had to find tools and turn it on myself. Hot tub kept cutting off, had to replug more than once. Screen door was ripped. Some of this may have been hurricane related but I would expect it would have been checked over before we got there. Even with this and a couple of other issues we did have a good time.

Loved the big windows in the living room. Couldn't see mountains because of the leaves but I'm sure when they all fall in winter you can. All the beds were very comfortable . The hot tub was clean and the kids loved getting in every evening. Deducted one star because the Nintendo was not functional. Power cord was missing, so we couldn't play.

Horrible experience

In the middle of our 3 hour trip to the property, we received a message that the property had not been cleaned prior to our arrival but that it would be cleaned that day. We arrived at check-in time of 4 and found that code would not open lock. Contacted property manager and was sent a backup code. It did not work either. Contacted prperty manager again and was sent emergency code which didn't work either. Contacted property manager again and were told of lock box location and code to get key to open back door. Opened the lock box to discover no key inside. Contacted property manager yet again and was offered 20% nightly discount and that maintenance person might be able to get there in a half hour or so. These activities took approximately an houir and ten minutes. We finally decided to cancel the trip and contacted the property manager again to let them know. They agreed to fully refund the reservation. Drove 3 hours back home thoroughly disappointed. Will never do business with Cherokee Rose Homes again.
