After searching for hours online with no luck whatsoever, I am reduced to providing only a description as a name. But this is a terrific place. A very informal order-at-the-counter "bar" that will serve you sandwiches and soup, grilled vegetables and salad, and a nice chunk of cake if you're up to it. I recommend it highly. You'll find it on the corner near the overpass of the Via Aurelia. Just remember "red umbrellas," and you can't go wrong.

This is a Roman bridge which fords a small stream that empties into the bay. That's right, a Roman bridge, which means that it has been standing for something like two thousand years. You will be thunderstruck by how casually and randomly things like this appear in the middle of nowhere in Italy. Bogliasco isn't "nowhere," mind you. It's a suburb of Genoa. But the idea that a little bridge like this could have stuck around for so long practically defies comprehension. #beach
