The property is well situated in the heart of Newburry Street and shopping. The communication was very bad. No one answers the phone during open hours and the mailbox was full not accepting messages. The unit is noisy with every sound outside coming through all night. There were no written instruction on how to use the TV. You could turn on but not do anything else. There was 3 remotes and they did not work. Funny they had ear plugs on the night stand. Not good.

Well designed room, with a good use of space. Well located. Very clean. It could use a few more hooks in the bathroom, but that's just a quibble. The reduced rating is because communications are woefully inadequate. The hotel has no parking facility, but I didn't find that out until I arrived. It also has no elevator, which creates issues for people who have trouble with stairs, but again: no warning about that. While the property is well-maintained, I wouldn't stay with that hotel chain again, because I don't want more surprises.

Awesome Location

Maverick Suites was in a perfect location on Newbury Street. It is a 19 minute walk to Boston Commons and the beginning of the Freedom Trail. It is also a 19 minute walk to Fenway Park. There are dozens of shops, bars and restaurants an easy stroll away. The only drawback was the stairs (and an extremely heavy front door!). We were on the 4th floor and the stair were a bit much. The room was clean with bare essentials in utensils, dishes, a microwave and refrigerator (that had no door to the freezer). Since the suite was in the heart of Newbury Street, it did get a bit loud at times late at night-especially by some very loud cars looking to show off...

This was one of the most minimalistic rooms I’ve ever stayed in. Guaranteed to be no frills here. No extra pillows, no extra blanket, no extra towels, soap bars, the size of postage stamps. A perfect IKEA showroom. Even the coffee pack left laying on the counter looked like it had been there for quite a while. Even the bedsheets didn’t fit the mattress. Also, when it says it’s a “non smoking” room that means that you can’t smoke in it. It does not mean that no one else can smokes in it either. The stale cigarette smell is overwhelming as you walk in the door. I will say that we had no issues with getting checked in or any problems with the code locks. Did not have any room service and I can see why. Would not want to be climbing those stairs every day.

Perfect for our trip

The hotel was perfect for our long weekend trip to Boston. If I had a complaint it would be that it could use a shelf in the bathroom for toiletries. Otherwise, it was comfortable, the location couldn't be beat, we had a great time. Would definitely recommend and rebook!

Loved the location. The property was great. Only downside is the bathroom is extremely small and I am not a very big individual. There are also a lot of stairs. Which again, not an issue for myself however if you have difficulties with stairs, be prepared. The location was perfect. Close to everything. I would stay again.

We really liked this property, it's conveniently located on Newbury Street, with everything close by. The room was clean and comfortable. Our only complaint was the 12 flights of stairs, we wish we had known about that before booking. We had a large suitcase, and carrying it up to the 4th floor was definitely not fun. Otherwise, our stay was great!

Terrible communication, locked out in the rain

They gave me the wrong access # for the front of building and their voicemail was full — I couldn’t leave a message. Their online message support response took HOURS, so I was shut out of my room in the rain and heat. I stood out in the rain for an hour before some random guest let me inside. It was a bad experience.

I wasn’t aware that this was a self-check-in hotel and that I needed to register for check-in 72 hours before arrival. On the day I arrived, I tried calling the property for check-in instructions, but no one answered, and I couldn’t even leave a voicemail because their mailbox was full. Fortunately, a Hotels.com agent was able to assist me and help resolve the issue. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of downtown and was clean and well-maintained. However, it was extremely noisy throughout the day and night. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless you’re completely unfazed by loud city environment.
