“Stayed here for a week as a base to mooch around Mayo where my family roots are. Hotel decor is a little tired here and there but that did not affect our enjoyment or not make hotel VFM. Lots of friendly local/Irish staff, which I think helps to add warmth to the atmosphere and is perhaps unusual for this size of hotel - perhaps because of Westport’s size? Food is great. Had been meaning to climb Croagh Patrick for a while and finally got round to it this time. This is not for the feint-hearted……

“The rooms at the Nevins Lodge were newly renovated and a spacy :-) bath. The beds are spatious and new. The people at the pub were very helpful and very supportive. “First time in Castlebar and found this hotel to be a great location to stay in before my meeting next day. Whilst i arrived after 7pm and the restaurant kitchen closed at 7pm, I rang the reception and they offered me the choice to pre order a dinner - went for Roast Beef. On arrival check-in was very swift, my room was warm and comfortable and dinner when served was delicious. Quiet room with warm shower and great bed - so superb sleep enjoyed.
