"We rented two rooms to attend a wedding. We checked in, got ready and left to the wedding right away. We got back late and immediately went to sleep. Upon waking, we saw a cockroach on our lamp shade. My daughter was staying in the room across the hall and she also saw a cockroach in her room. My husband had gone to get us coffee and saw a cockroach in their breakfast area. He notified the front desk immediately. There wasn’t a manager on site, so he was advised to contact Expedia since we booked through them. Ultimately, they advised that we couldn’t get a refund because they had already paid the hotel!? We were offered a $25 per room credit. I don’t believe that we’ll use Expedia again if they can’t even get you a refund for a cockroach infested hotel. "

"Everything was perfect for the first comers like us except the "Breakfast Included" information. It'd interpreted, either intended or unintended, as a sort of "fradulent advertisement". I think it'd be an issue for both your (Expedia) advertisement and the ESA's. The advertisement specifically says the breakfast a "continental breakfast. However, in fact, it's NOT. What the ESA in San Ramon provides in the morning hours is NOT what the typical "continental breakfast" supposed to be. But no matter what I said or reported above, the overall experiences are quite okay. Specifically in our case at the ESA San Ramon, the staff services were great. Particularly a lady staff, Allison Duda, was superb! Exceptionally wonderful! She'd made our stay there for 5 days quite comfortable, easy and happy! For that, we'd like to highly commend her work at the ESA. Many thanks to the entire staff at the San Ramon ESA! Best! "

"There was clearly some sort of kid party happening at the pool. There were at least 100 kids in the tiny pool, easily over max capacity. The water was murky and it was so loud that if you wanted to say something to the person next to you, you’d have to yell for them to be able to hear you. I’m not overly sensitive to noise but I’m pretty sure the few moments I spent in the pool area caused hearing loss. I’ve been to rock concerts that were quieter. And the hotel staff just let it happen. I had to ask to have the room cleaned again once we got checked in because it was dusty The front desk staff seemed very unprofessional, maybe I just caught her on a bad day but I smiled, was kind and pleasant and she was extremely rude. And I was just checking in! I wasn’t complaining or asking for anything. Then the parking situation, well that was a joke. They have about 50 spots in their garage which of course were full so we had to park in a neighboring garage and pay their prices and walk all the way over. Walnut Creek is a nice area, there is no reason for this hotel to be so trashy. And it’s literally trashy! When we checked in there were people (guests?) eating out front and the next day when we checked out their food and drink containers were still sitting in the ground and in the bushes. No one bothered to throw them away. It was flat out gross. "
